Xi’an Street Food, opened in April 2024, brings the flavors of Xi’an, China to Ithaca, NY. Savory dishes like Roujiamo, a spiced meat sandwich, and Biang Biang noodles, known for their hand-ripped texture and bold spice, are all made with fresh ingredients and recipes passed down through generations of Xi’an chefs.

Delicious. Very clean dining room. Got the Hand ripped noodles and the thin spicy sesame noodles. Both were good but the sesame noodles had way more flavor. Also order spicier than you think, I got a level 5 spice and it was barely spicy. Braised beef was incredible, cucumber salad in chili oil incredible, egg and tomatoes incredible, dumplings incredible. Can’t say enough good things about the food.

I got the Spicy Cumin Lamb Hand Ripped Noodles. The noodle was firm and springy, featured a good portion of lamb, and the sauce was savory and spicy. I got the medium spice and it was perfect, though a bit oily. I was also impressed by the length of the noodles because they were really long. The triple dumplings were also so delicious, the inside was juicy and flavorful, topped with more chilli oil. The automatic ordering was cool as well, and food came relatively fast. The pricing was also surprisingly affordable. Would definitely recommend to noodle lovers and spicy food enthusiasts.

Authentic and satisfying! It’s such a treat to find a place that serves real Xi’an food—hand-pulled noodles and lamb jiamo that are bold, spicy, and deeply seasoned. You can taste the freshness of the dough, and the chili oil has real flavor, not just heat. The lamb sandwich was juicy and fragrant, packed with green pepper and cumin.
The interior is simple and functional, but even during the quiet summer break, the place was buzzing with students and regulars. That says a lot. Highly recommend if you’re craving Northwestern Chinese comfort food done right.

I have had Spicy Cumin Lamb Hand-pulled Noodles in both the stir-fried style and the lamp soup style, and would strongly recommend to have it dry unless you cannot take spicy. You can also choose the spice level based on your taste. It is definitely my favorite and some of my friends’ favorite dish, despite sometimes the lamb could have too much tendons.
I also like the stew pork bun and cold skin noodles there. I always visited this place when I was craving Xian food in Ithaca.
It is vegetarian friendly and easy for takeout.

Hi. From the outside it looks nice, but there’s a big drawback right away: the dishes are plastic, the toilet is dirty, and the water is ice cold. The lamb soup wasn’t very tasty, only worth trying once…

The noodle here is definitely very good. Super tasty and the restaurant was so packed on a Friday’s evening. They recently moved across the street and there is more space. AC is not cold enough in a summer hot day. It is self-served and foods are purchased at the touch panel.

The hand-pulled biangbiang noodles were good, so chewy and fresh! They had a pretty nice flavor from the sauce. The first time I went, I think I accidentally got pork instead of beef but the meat was so good, way more tender and melt-in-your-mouth than I’d expect. The next time I went, I got braised beef and many of the pieces of beef were fatty which was disappointing but it was still good, and the pieces without fat were tender. We got medium spicy which had us sneezing and crying lol so I’d go with mild spicy next time but I do love a bit of heat. The cumin lamb is tasty, very cuminy.
Dumplings were good too.
