Xi’an Famous Foods began as a 200 square foot basement stall in the Golden Shopping Mall in Flushing, N.Y. The original location, established in late 2005, was the first restaurant to bring the little-known cuisine of Xi’an to the United States. Since then, it’s become a beloved local fast-casual chain, with locations spread across New York City, as well as locations in Boston, Philadelphia, Virginia, etc. As a family-owned business, Xi’an Famous Foods looks to reintroduce the world to the unique western Chinese cuisine of the founder’s hometown through some classic dishes: liang pi “cold-skin noodles stewed pork burgers, wide hand-pulled “biang biang” noodles, and more, all in their most authentic forms based on family recipes.
Local counter-serve chain offering Xi’an-style Chinese fare, including noodles, soups & sandwiches.

Workers are very helpful and knowledgeable to assist you with your meals. Fast service considering the long line with the opening day promotion. Mild, spicy, very spicy options available. English and Chinese speaking staff on site.
Meal: I ordered the NS1 Spicy cumin lamb hand-ripped noodle in soup, but I asked for mild spicy. However, the “mild” was still too spicy for me because I guess the meat was pre-seasoned so they can’t really do it mild, but the lamb was flavorful (maybe just a bit tough). The noodles were thick and chewy. Washed it all down with their chrysanthemum tea, prefect accompaniment to cool off the mouth.

I had to try N1 Spicy Cumin Lamb Hand Ripped Noodles (the least spicy). It is so good, well seasoned, and the noodles are so big. I love it. The customer service was great too- cashier spoke to me about the options and helped me decided want I want. I must get the beef noodles next time for sure.

Had the spicy hot oil seared hand pulled noodles (extra spicy). It was amazing watching the noodles get hand pulled through the window. The grand opening was operated very smoothly and i appreciated the staff overall. I will deff have to come back.

Xian famous foods always hits. I love the hand pulled noodles with cumin lamb, stewed pork or chicken. The dumplings are really good too. Don’t sleep on the spicy cucumbers salad either. I like the extra spicy options but it’s not quite as spicy as I’d like. Spacious inside and has some seating to enjoy your meal.

Today is the perfect day for some spicy lamb noodles. Another place that serves large portions, enough for 2 people or a second meal if you eat smaller meals like me. The noodles is always good while dining in or when eating left overs hours later.
What more can you ask for?

Great as usual – especially if you’re vegan… and it’s cheap in price too! If you get the pleasure to meet the owner he explains every dish so well to give you the best experience possible of their menu. Try dish “A2” regular spicy!

Loving the spicy cumin lamb soup on a cold day! Very fast service. Wasn’t sure how much wiggle room on spice level available, but they do let you adjust on request!
