First time try this restaurant today and Iam craving spicy soup in this cold weather. We sat on booth on the left side which is wrong because you can feel the cold breeze everytime someone open the door Nothing special on Crab rangoon, I think their fried dumpling is best, salt&pepper chicken has savory breaded, soup dumpling with pork I dont know why they named it as soup dumpling , it has no broth( it just steamed on the bamboo tray) spicy beef stew noodle I choose thin noodle and taste good it taste little bit same as mala. Overall their food are delicious. Next I will try another their noodle soup

was referred to XI XIA Chinese Cuisine (Pickerington) by a close acquaintance, and I have to say I’m so glad I listened. I honestly can’t remember the last time I came this close to completely cleaning my plate at a restaurant. The flavor was incredible from start to finish.

The General Tso’s chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender, juicy chicken on the inside exactly how it should be. The sauce had so much depth and flavor. The steamed rice had a great texture too not that cheap yellow rice you find at a lot of places. You can tell they care about quality here.

What really stood out to me, though, was the service. Mr. Lee was incredibly friendly and welcoming. He spoke so proudly about the restaurant and his work that I honestly assumed he was one of the owners. You don’t usually hear that kind of passion unless someone truly loves what they do and it shows.

The lunch special was $11 (I believe it runs daily from 11–3, including weekends), and for the quality and portion size, that’s an amazing value. Truthfully, the food is good enough that they could charge more but I’m not complaining!

They also have a small dining room set up, which makes it feel like a real sit-down experience instead of just grabbing food in a strip plaza shop. It’s cozy, comfortable, and inviting.

To sum it up: this is one of the best Chinese restaurants I’ve had the pleasure of dining in for a long time. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. It’s officially on my weekly lunch rotation.

Highly recommended!!

The food was pretty tasty. The egg rolls are delicious. I did not have a long wait despite ordering in the restaurant versus on the website. They provide provided utensils, including chopsticks and a nice plastic spoon. In my food came in a nice Tupperware container.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ (4 stars)
This is definitely a unique dining experience. Everything is ordered on an iPad, which is actually pretty cool. However, when I first came in, it felt a bit awkward — almost like they weren’t expecting someone to sit down and eat in the restaurant.

That said, the food was mostly good. I had the rice noodle Pad Thai and I would highly recommend it — a very solid choice.

I also tried the crab rangoon. The flavor was just okay and, for the price, it didn’t feel worth it. The portions were very small for around $7, and I’ve had much better elsewhere.

The egg rolls, though, were pretty decent. Overall, a good spot with a few things that could be improved.

Loved the spicy stew beef and noodles! I got medium spice. Hot and delicious. Thin noodles were so good and homemade. The sweet coconut steamed dumplings had such amazing and soft texture with the sweet molten sauce in the middle. My wife’s noodles were wide and had a very mild soy-based sauce.

We recently went and had no idea what to expect. Daniel (the owner) spent SO much time walking us through the menu and was unbelievably kind! He came back to check on us multiple times too! We got two types of dim sum, boba, noodles, and the spicy beef stew. We literally were blown away by how amazing everything was! We are already planning for when we can come back next! Amazing service, food, and atmosphere!

XIXIA Chinese Cuisine – Columbus, OH
Price per person: $15–25
Wait time: 0–5 minutes (weekday, early afternoon)
Noise level: Quiet to moderate — peaceful vibe
Seating: Booths, tables, and 2-person setups with solid spacing
Vegetarian options: Available
Dietary accommodations: Tablet allows ingredient customization; ask staff
Parking: Shared strip mall lot with plenty of free parking
Kid-friendliness: Yes, calm enough for families
Wheelchair accessible: Yes

This wasn’t a planned visit — more like a craving that crossed paths with convenience. XIXIA had been tucked in my Yelp bookmarks for a while. Not a top priority, just one of those “maybe if I’m nearby” spots. Between the kid’s salon and Cold Stone, the strip mall exterior didn’t raise expectations. But I was close. I was hungry. I gave it a shot.

From the moment I stepped inside, it felt different. Think: mom-and-pop soul in strip mall drag. Warm wood tones, dim lighting, and the quiet trickle of water near the entrance — no loud branding, no influencer bait. Just a calm, intentional space. The kind that makes you sit up straighter without realizing why.

The staff was welcoming and smooth. A full glass of ice-cold water hit the table immediately (yes, with actual ice cubes), and the digital ordering system was explained clearly without pressure. A printed menu might help some folks, but the tablet made exploring easy — with clear photos and customization options.

Yibin Fire Noodles (+ Fried Egg)
Flavor > fire — and I mean that in the best way.
It had that slow-creeping heat: smoky, garlicky, and deeply seasoned with preserved veggies, ground meat, and chili oil. Textured and balanced, not gimmicky. The $2 egg add-on? Fully cooked, not runny, and unseasoned — I had to ask for salt and pepper. Not a dealbreaker, but next time I’ll ask for a soft egg. Still worth ordering.

Salt & Pepper Chicken
The star. Hot, juicy, likely thigh meat, and seasoned beautifully. The breading held its own — not too thick, not greasy. It came with a sweet & sour sauce in a surprisingly fancy little silicone-topped container (yes, I Googled it later). I would’ve loved a second, spicier dipping option, but this still held up.

Final Thoughts:
XIXIA isn’t loud — and maybe that’s the point.
It’s not chasing TikTok clout. It’s just solid, flavorful food in a calm space, with kind service and a few surprises if you’re paying attention. This was a 3.5-star experience on visit one, but I’d come back. I left thinking about what I’d order next — and that says something.

I visited the Clintonville location many years ago and wasn’t super excited about it; I don’t remember much. I recently gave this new location a try and it was exceptional and memorable. They have lots of good-looking dumpling, stir-fry, and noodle (dry and soup) dishes. It’s a great menu overall. I was in a dumpling mood and went with the pork soup dumplings, chive and egg steamed buns, and spicy vermicelli steam buns. I loved them all — they had great textures, satisfying large portions, herbiness, and good spices. The pork dumplings had great flavor and were my favorite of the three. My dining partner had the chicken noodle soup and was pretty pleased. I’m more than happy to come back and try more of the menu.

First time in Columbus. I read a Chinese review on Dealmoon and I was in the area so I had to try it. Amazing food! Refreshing to finally have an authentic Chinese restaurant on the East side of town instead of the Northwest where everything seems to be located. Will definitely be back as I want to try everything. Will order the family size Dapanji for dinner tonight. The servers were both friendly and spoke perfect English and gave great recommendations. Very clean restaurant. Only disappointment is that the Egg drop soup was not included in some kind of a lunch special like most Asian places.

Fairly new spot in Pickerington and we’re all better for it! They offer so many noodle dishes you could have a different dish each time and no doubt they would all be fantastic. I had beef noodle soup and my wife had the stirred noodles with tofu. Also had to try their rice and hot and sour soup. We both requested no spice but will consider it next time. Service was super fast and friendly.
