XeÔm Eatery

  4.4 – 2,087 reviews   • Vietnamese restaurant

Streetfood-Style eben. Das ist ihnen gelungen.

Light Vietnamese salads, crispy noodles & pho served in a buzzy, industrial-chic setting.

We were very warmly welcomed and accommodated swiftly (plus points).

Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about our meals—the warmth of our bowls/soups was lacking and hence the noodles were stuck together, clueless about what to do with their life. The “raspberry” lemonade ended up being plum, but I’m not as worried about the beverage as I was about my meal—it was definitely not worth the price, and not worth paying overall.

Recommended for Vietnamese food in Hamburg. The soup I had was good, chock full of vegetables and the lemon served with it was a really good touch. I think the Bun Bo Hue would have been more flavorful but I wasn’t in the mood for meat – next time. Service was efficient but still friendly, the place was packed on an early Saturday evening.

Amazing food and drinks! Nothing to complain about, we order soup and crispy noodles, hard to say which is better (I recommend asking for hot souce with soup). Both with beef and beef was amazing, not overcooked at all which is often a problem for me. Also girls ice tea (amazing, not to sweet, refreshing, not obvious taste) and lychee lemonade – a little sweeter but still super refreshing. For a long time I wasn’t this happy with food in Hamburg.

In love their pho bo! Came here twice with friends and we tried different selections. The BTM was nice and a great vegetarian option. The fried spring rolls were amazing! Thick filling and very savoury with tangy dip. Very crispy! The bo bun hue was also nice! Generous beef topping and not too spicy as well. The winner was the pho bo! Broth was really deep and comforting! Sliced beef was also really fresh and good. For my fellow SEA spicy lovers, ask for fresh cut chilies.. man, it really elevated the broth! Oh, and the portions of each dish was quite big as well.

My friends had some of their mocktails and they loved them!

It’s cash only payment and tip is encouraged.

Will definitely return for the pho bo .

We visited as a group of 4 and had a variety of dishes. All of it was excellent, and the service fast and friendly. A little odd that they demand only cash payments, so we had to check pur pockets to make sure we carry bills. But otherwise, all was great. The interior design is eclectic and emulates the vibes of a foodstall with loose cables dangling from the ceiling and all. Liked it, will go back.

Xeôm is a total slice of Saigon right in the heart of the Karoviertel. The vibe is loud, fast-paced, and authentic—exactly what you want from a Vietnamese eatery. Awesome stuff and delicious crunchy noodles on top.

Went here last year and had some of the best pho ever. Came back this year as the only thing we wanted to try in Hamburg before heading home. Clearly the quality has dropped significantly since last year.

The pho this time was really bad and tastes only of fivespice, the portions were small and there were only tourists this time around compared to lots of locals last time. The service seemed like they wanted us in and out as fast as possible but at least they played good music.

Overall we were very disappointed to come back here and won’t be coming back again.

Taste is authentic to vietnamese cuisine. Some ingredients are missing in Bun Bo Hue, but it doesn’t change the taste. Smaller volume compared to other places and price paid.
Plum lemonade was great.

Delicious rice porridge. A bit salty for my taste, but overall it’s tasty, warm, and enough to make you full. The sweet potato fries is also good.

Reasonable price and the food definitely worth your money. Would like to go back to try their pho. Fyi, bring enough cash to pay (I don’t think they accept card).

The food here is absolutely excellent and tastes so authentic. Inside the restaurant is really lovely too. The only reason for 3 stars is that the server we had started off quite abrupt and when we didn’t order straight away we couldn’t get a drink for over 20 min. When she finally came back she was just absolutely rude and zero manners. We were all foreigners too. About 9 of us in total. When the food arrived she started saying what number did we order which none of us remembered as the menu was in English so we ordered in English. The food was so tasty I’m sad I would not recommend this place to other as the service was rude and uninviting.
