We started with civeche and tamal de elotes. The ceviche was ok 3/5 and the tamal de elotes was a 10/10 delicious!
We had drinks which were good a Michelada with a shot of tequila and a margarita.
For our meals we had Chicken Mole 12/10, Steak with mole 12/10 and steak enchiladas 9/10. Everything was delicious. But the mole had me leaving wanting more and more. So good.
Our waiter was very helpful as it was our first time, he made suggestions on the menu and answered all our questions.
The ambiance was casual. Casual attire was ok and didn’t not feel out of place. The resturant was a little pricey. Overall I would recommend and would recommend a reservation. We had a reservation but had come before and was unable to be seated because they were very busy.
– TACOS CAMPESINOS had a cheesy grilled skirt steak with mozzarella, cactus salad, and mamá coco sauce.
– PAPAS ENCHILADAS ZAMORANAS tasted great, especially the adobo sauce, but it could’ve used a bit more salt.
– ENSALADA DE NOPALES was one of our favorite sharable dishes — the nopales were soft and really tasty.
– TROMPITO AL PASTOR is a platter you can share with about 3 people. It was on the lighter side flavor‑wise, so it could’ve used a little more, but overall it was still delicious.
– ENMOLADAS had a sour taste, so the flavor leaned sour. I did like the two moles — mole de rancho and mole prieto — but the flavor profile could’ve been better.
– The drinks were great; every drink had flavor and tasted really good.
I had a really great experience at this restaurant. The place is very clean, nice, and pleasant overall. I also really liked the bathrooms, which were well maintained—something I always appreciate. It’s a great spot to enjoy cocktails, and they offer a very solid Mexican food menu.
The food is prepared with a lot of care and attention to detail. The dishes look beautiful, are very well presented, and feel thoughtfully crafted. I loved that they offer different aguas to enjoy with your meal, and the desserts were absolutely delicious. This restaurant is definitely unique in the way they present their dishes.
I had heard about this place a couple of times before but never had the chance to visit until now. This was my first time, and I truly enjoyed it. I’ll be sharing some photos of the dishes ordered at our table because they’re really worth seeing.
The service was very kind. Even though there was a bit of disorganization during our visit, the servers were still very attentive, helpful, and always willing to assist, which made the experience a good one.
One thing I really want to highlight is the price. For how excellent everything is overall—the food, the presentation, the atmosphere, and the experience—I found it to be very affordable, honestly quite economical.
Overall, everything was great, and that’s why I’m happily leaving five stars. I would definitely come back. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Tamal con Elote appetizer is very popular and was recommended and it did not disappoint. Also had a vegetarian quesadilla that was amazing.
For entrees, I had the birria red snapper dish and my gf had a birria dish that came presented bone in. Both were phenomenal. She enjoyed her two margaritas. We will definitely be back for more date nights. Thank you, Sulem, for the great service and recommendations.
First time visiting with the family, and Xalisko did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, lively, and authentic — the kind of spot where you can tell the food is made with pride.
We started with the ceviche, and it was fresh, zesty, and packed with flavor — the kind that instantly wakes up your taste buds. The flautas were crispy and golden with perfectly seasoned meat inside, and the tacos were just as impressive, each one loaded with rich flavor and cooked just right.
One of the highlights was their rendition of charro beans — honestly one of the best I’ve had. Savory, bold, and full of depth, it tasted like something your abuela would make from scratch.
Service was excellent — friendly, attentive, and fast without making us feel rushed. It was our first time here, but it felt like a place we’d been coming to for years.
If you’re in The Woodlands, Texas and want a spot with great energy, amazing food, and true Mexican flavor, Xalisko is a must-try. Already looking forward to coming back with the family.
What can I say — this place has authentic Mexican food! The handmade tortillas and trompo tacos were incredible. Even the kids’ soup was packed with flavor. The freshly squeezed orange juice and cucumber water were so refreshing. Every dish we tried was delicious. We went for brunch on a Sunday and had no wait. Excellent food, friendly service, and great atmosphere — highly recommend!
Our favorites today were the Tacos a la Canasta (so flavorful!) and the sweet potatoes shareable dish, a total must try. For drinks, we went with a refreshing Jamaica and a pepino limón, both hit the spot perfectly.
Can’t wait to come back again
