Reviews
The moment we walked in, we felt rushed. Our waitress asked if we were going to have a “hard” or “easy” order, which immediately made us feel uncomfortable. It wasn’t a welcoming atmosphere at all. When our ramen arrived, it was a joke, there was barely any broth, and it was served in a rushed, almost disrespectful manner. The waitress literally slammed the bowls on the table without a word. To top it off, she didn’t offer any chopsticks or forks. We had to ask for them.
When we tried to address the issue by asking for the manager, we were told that the person who had been serving us was, in fact, the manager. We asked to speak to someone higher up, and when the boss showed up, he didn’t even know who his own manager was. We had to point her out. And when we explained our experience, his response was basically that he couldn’t discipline employees because they might quit, which just seemed like an excuse for poor service.
The only silver lining was that we received a small discount, but honestly, that doesn’t make up for the awful treatment and the lack of professionalism. There are so many other places in town where you can get better service and better ramen.
I ordered:
– tonkotsu ramen
– California roll
– medium poke bowl with salmon
The tonkotsu ramen is delicious if you’ve never had real tonkotsu ramen before. I’d probably scale this as being better than your homemade instant noodles and definitely under the actual 16-hr slow-cooked broth you’d find at a real ramen shop. HOWEVER, I do love that the chashu pieces were BEYOND generous and thick. It was a 5/5 in that aspect. The rest of the toppings were fairly generous and in truth it wasn’t terrible but for the price I paid for the bowl I could have gone to one in LA instead.
The California roll tasted exactly as I expected it to but I felt they were very generous on the avocado which I loved.
The poke bowl was alright. I actually think they forgot to give us our sauce unless they had mixed it in the bowl.
Overall, while this isn’t my immediate choice for ramen and poke, it’s still a fairly decent restaurant with decent service.
The service was a little bit slow but we did go in during the middle of dinner time and it wasn’t a problem at all. The staff there were all very nice and we had a good time!
I’ve been coming here for 2 years now, and I keep coming back!! all the food taste fresh, i really recommend the baked salmon dish and the poke bowls.
