Love the pizza! Once a year we pass by for work and always grab a za for the trip. On return we call one in as we are getting near. They have a great idea whereby they will (if you request) half baked the pizza. Then, you return home and finish it in your oven and its perfect!

Awesome pizza and baked goods. Will definitely make this a regular stop on my way down south.

Thank you for serving us even at the last second of being open. Sappy maple soda and home made pizza on our way home with 5 hours to go.

Ordered 12 pcs fried chicken with fixings, chicken was average but not even a price of breast in a $50 order☹️ coleslaw was discusting (brown colour) and not edible.
Was totally disappointed with our order.

What a welcome change from the usual road side stops for a sweet treat and much more. Ended up taking home, a among other things, a frozen lasagne for dinner tomorrow night! We will definitely be calling for deliveries and stopping in again when driving through.

Best hot cross buns I have ever had! They had just came out of the oven before we got there. They could not even put them in a plastic bag they were so warm! We also baught a slice of pizza each and some butter tarts.

Pizza was not greasy and the crust was crispy and chewy. Lots of toppings and very flavorful tomato sauce.

Butter tarts were good, they had more pecans than filling so I was not as impressed with them.

The building itself is older and looks a bit run down but don’t let that stop you from enjoying some great baking! This is a hidden gem! Support local!

Very nice bakery with lots of options
The peanut butter cream pie was fantastic, as was the sourdough bread. My wife also loved their fried chicken and I am eager to order a pizza from them next time we pass through.

We always make a point of supporting small, local, independent shops whenever we can—especially over the big box stores. And there’s nothing better than being able to give a shout-out when a place truly nails it. But the operative word here is excellence.

We were passing through Mattawa on our way to North Bay and decided to skip our usual stop in favour of trying Wright’s. We were just looking for some buns for lunch and thought we’d give this place a shot. The woman serving us was lovely—warm and welcoming—which is always a great start.

We ended up grabbing a loaf of sourdough, and I’ll say right up front: it was fresh and tasty. Not the best I’ve ever had, but certainly very good.

Then we spotted the Blueberry Pie. And who doesn’t love a great blueberry pie, right?

Well. This is where things went completely off the rails.

This was, without exaggeration, the worst blueberry pie I’ve ever tasted—and I mean by a long shot. I don’t know if someone confused salt for sugar, but holy smokes. The filling was a thick, gelatinous blue sludge that had nothing remotely pleasant about it. At $13.99, it felt like a prank. We couldn’t even eat it—it went straight into the garbage.

We considered saying something on our way back through, but then learned (via other reviews) that this is not a one-off. Apparently, this pie has a reputation—and not the good kind.

Maybe they make some great items at Wright’s, but it is definitely not the “Blueberry Pie” (if we can even call it that). What we bought was a rock-hard, salty pastry shell stuffed with what looked like blueberry filling but tasted like… punishment.

Caveat emptor.

To the owners of Wright’s: there are some excellent recipes out there for blueberry pie crust and filling. If you need help finding one, I’d be happy to send you a few. But please—please—stop selling that. The world deserves better pie.

Bought a pumpkin pie for $12, worst pie ever, crust is half burnt and tough and pumpkin is thin and over cooked as well, loaf of bread was heavy and half stale, sorry won’t recommend this place to anyone.
