3 stars because it’s a cute shop and the service was ok.

Tiramisu Latté is too sweet to drink.
Chai is barely there spice.

You may need to try something basic if trying this place for the first time.

Amazing coffee shop ☺️ the bathroom has a full stock of diapers and I feel so seen wifi is a little slow for anyone coming to work, but a cozy atmosphere to hang while you wait for things to load. ❤️

What a great coffee shop. The atmosphere was great. Very coffee shopish but not overly loud. Staff was super friendly and helpful and very engaging when it came to conversation. Definitely a shop I will be stopping by when ever I am in the area.

Traverse Coffee Co makes delicious specialty coffees, and even has seasonal drinks available for a limited time (their pumpkin spice latte is made with homemade pumpkin spice – sooooooo good and only available through October 31). There are also non coffee items available – a variety of teas, hot chocolate, and cold drinks in a small fridge if coffee, tea, or hot chocolate sound good. I had the pumpkin spice latte and a mocha the next day. Breakfast sandwiches and pastries were very tasty. I was only in Hallowell for a few short days, but saw that the owner had created a warm and welcoming shop feel, and could tell that the regulars adore him.

Traverse Coffee Co. has the nicest atmosphere, and the most friendly owner and staff. The pastries I’ve tried were all super yummy. The coffee isn’t the best. I’ve tried their espresso drinks, regular coffee and pour over, and they all have the same unpleasant taste. The last time I visited I had a pour over coffee, and it took them a very long time to make (at least twenty minutes). I make pour over coffee every morning at home, and it doesn’t take more than 5 minutes to make. I’m wondering if the unpleasant coffee taste is coming from the water. I don’t know if they filter their water or not, but if they’re using the city water, that could definitely be the problem. I’ve noticed the tap water in the Augusta area had a very strong chlorine smell/taste. We won’t drink it. We drive to a spring to collect water for our house. Anyway, it’s a really nice spot, definitely worth a visit, and I hope their coffee will improve in the future.

I went there for the first time today, and it was a wonderful experience! The latte and breakfast I had was delicious, and the atmosphere was wonderful! It’s a wonderful spot to go and have a coffee by yourself or with other people. It is also a great atmosphere to do studying if you are a student! I highly recommend going here, and I can’t wait to come back again!

The cutest place for a coffee with the best vibes. We stopped for coffee to go but if I lived locally I would never leave. The baristas were so knowledgeable and friendly, the fireplace corner was so cozy, and the porch on the back had the best view. The coffee was so good, too, but honestly the place was so much the quintessential embodiment of what I want a coffee shop to be that I would go back even if it had tasted terrible. Luckily, it was fantastic! There is also a used book store down the street. Traverse Coffee could not be more perfect if it tried.

My boyfriend and I come here to get coffee all the time, and every time we come here the service, drinks, and environment is impeccable.

Great atmosphere and staff. Their housemade pumpkin spice syrup has great flavors of pumpkin and spice, rather than just the spice and sugar of some of those other drink chains. A solid pick for a date night or quick drink.

This is a great place! The owners are friendly and knowledgeable, and you won’t find a better cup of coffee anywhere in Kennebec County. With names like The English Channel, The East Indies, and The Nutty Tortie, their specialty coffees are smooth and delicious. (If you like a little heat, I recommend the Flying Dutchman – particularly tasty!) The view of the Kennebec River from their deck is lovely. Highly recommended!
