Wowee Zowee Pizza
Reviews
The pizza slice itself is a quarter of the entire pizza which is a great size for $7-$8. We asked if they could cut that in half to share between 2 people and they were happy to oblige. The interior design is very personalized and makes you feel at home.
The pizza itself was amazing flavors and texture. The thickness of the pizza slice was just right. I’m not a huge fan of pizza and maybe eat it once or twice a year. This place makes me want to come back every week.
We got to the restaurant a little before pickup time, and there’s such a cute waiting area with lots of fun decor. A lot to look at and enjoy. The staff was so kind and reminding us “just a few minutes!” every so often, even though we could’ve waited there forever with how cozy and comfy the place was!
The pizza was SPECTACULAR. I’m not a huge pizza fan, especially thin crust (like i don’t even like Riip or Folks pizza) and i LOVED IT. We got the Wilkin St. Combo. It was the best crust i’ve ever had, perfectly cooked dough, and the toppings were delicious and well thought-out. The garlic ranch was amazing too, like a mix of ranch and toum. We’ll have to come back to try more!! ❤️
If you dream of New York slices in OC, look no further. These guys are so nice, care deeply about the ingredients, and the craft of it all. Nothing beats a local joint that’s doing it right. Best way to do it is grabbing a slice (or an entire pie) and eating it there.
In the past couple of years, we’ve tried them all — from Centro, Parlor Pizza at Stafford Prime to Focaccia Boy in Santa Ana and Piazza Pie up in the Tustin Foothills.
But Wowee Zowee is on another level. It’s hands down the best sourdough pizza in Tustin — maybe all of North OC. Nothing else even comes close. The crust, the flavor, the freshness — and that ranch sauce — absolute perfection. It’s creamy, flavorful, and the perfect sidekick for their pies.
So glad to have this gem right here in the neighborhood! If they ever add a beer and wine license, I’m hooked for life.
I ordered for pickup a couple days in advance and when I showed up at ~6:45PM, they were sold out and turning away walk-ins. Definitely recommend planning ahead!
The sauce was really tasty! I enjoyed the cheese pizza more just because the sauce shown more. It also held its shape better because there wasn’t a liquid poured over it.
They packaged ranch and Chipotle sauce for free with each pizza! Personally, I can do without the Chipotle, but would love a side of red sauce to dip the crust in, like a bread stick. The ranch was tasty and thick. Not thin like other places.
The pizza is cooled before serving, so you can’t burn yourself on the heat. They are a bit greasy as NY style typically goes, but you don’t feel too heavy after eating it, because the quality of the ingredients is great.
I heard the bread is fermented, but personally I didn’t get a strong sour flavor from it. I love sourdough so I wanted more, but maybe that’d be too much for others. The bread is good quality. The crust was actually chewy and crispy and the bottom held its shape.
The price is on par with higher end pizza places. I would say above average given the quality, so very decent value.
All in all, great showing from their soft opening and looking forward to my next pizza from here when I’m in the area. If you’re still reading this review, just try it out already.
1. You tell everyone about this spot because good pizza is meant to be shared with the world. Best Pizza I’ve had in OC.
2. Don’t tell anyone about this spot because you don’t want them to run out before you get your slice. Keep it a hole in the wall spot.
Little on the pricier side and a Large pizza is going to be a 20 min wait, but well worth it.
