I ordered a bowl of chili and a beef sandwich and I was shocked at how much food came out. The chili was very tasty and I enjoyed the way the beef sandwich was served.

The Wounded Minnow is a nice, local place to relax and enjoy some good food.

My unit from work came here for our Christmas party. They have a nice banquet room in the back of the restaurant. I have been coming here off and on for a couple decades. They used to have a really good Italian beef an a nice Italian bread toped with giardina. They ruined it by putting it on some panini style bread with marinara on it and giardinara on the side. I included a pic. Server was great, couldn’t have been more polite, friendly and helpful. The fried fish is great, the fried mushrooms are terrible, they need to change how they do the breading. The onion rings are excellent. I want to try the pizza.
I recommend the wounded minnow.

Appetizer was great! We had cheese curds. We ordered a pizza. The sausage really had not taste but it wasn’t a bad pizza. The service was very prompt but a little pushy. The atmosphere needs an update. I did like that the saloon supports local schools and organizations by allowing them to have fundraiser nights! Keep an eye out for those dates!

The waiter was great, lots of ice in drinks. James M. Was great, great service, super kind. Beer was fresh. The outdoor seating is great; lots of bugs, though. Food was great, burger was great, well cooked and delicious. Must Have if you’re visiting. Pizza hard to cut, though.

A friend and I stopped in on a fall Sat afternoon as first timers on our way through from Edwardsburg to Kalamazoo. We both got the pizza and we both really liked it! We loved the dive bar vibe, the food, the drinks AND the service! We will definitely be back!

So how do I start this off? Well I decided to try the Wounded Minnow during the ice fest. My my my what a mistake. Now generally speaking a sit down restaurant at its full capacity should be able to have its food served in under 40 minutes. This place was lacking, ice fest altho busy only had this place at maybe half to 3/4 full at this time and it was well over an hours time, an hour and 21 minutes to be exact before the first 2 plates had hit the table. 5 minutes later came the rest (we had 7 of us). The bar server is who was serving us and it looked liked servers were very rare at this place. Nothing against her she was very good and tried her best to help where she could. She even made me a custom drink per my request im more concerned of the business itself lacking help. Now on with the food. Mine delicious and fine for what it was ( the quesadilla) but the rest of us got burgers, never asked how we wanted them cooked which was concerning but lets see what we get… one of them completely rare maybe less than rare resembled uncooked ground beef, the rest very well done, crispy black burnt pieces were falling off as they crunched through. We like a good medium rare but are not against them being more on the rare side so saying something is too rare, it was. Most restaurants if not told will generally cook a burger medium but not the wounded minnow. At this point we are not too impressed now bill time, my family share of the bill with 3 plates, 1 beer and a small lemonade vodka along with 2 pops not counting the sprite we sent back due to tasting absolutely horrendous was $72 before tip. Now thats insane and possibly the only reason i decided to make a review especially after waiting an unreasonable amount of time with absolutely no offers for something off the bill or maybe a discount of some kind and for a product that was just edible at best overall. Will not be returning even if i was about to fall over from starvation and won the lottery,

The experience was very comfortable. But $10 for 6 regular frozen mozz sticks and $2.50 for a ramiken of honey mustard is less than satisfactory. Chicken sand was great, good job cooks. The bun sucked. Fell apart, needs a sturdier bun.

Went here with my grandparents. All of us got food, the food was good, nothing to write home about. All of us got water to drink, and we were charged a dollar for each water. It was not bottled or sparkling water, it was just tap water. I’ve never been to a restaurant or bar where I’ve been charged for tap water while I’ve ordered other food or drinks. What a ridiculous policy to charge for water!
