Woody’s Diner is exactly what a classic American diner should be. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with warm service, generous portions, and food that tastes like it’s made with care—not rushed, not overcomplicated, just done right.
The breakfast is outstanding. The eggs are cooked properly, the bacon is crisp, and the hash browns are golden and flavorful. Their burgers are juicy and satisfying, and the milkshakes are thick and nostalgic in the best way. You can tell they believe in doing things the traditional way—simple ingredients, honest cooking, and consistency.
The atmosphere is comfortable and inviting, with that timeless diner charm that makes you want to sit a little longer and enjoy your meal. Prices are fair, portions are generous, and the staff treats you like a regular even on your first visit.
If you’re looking for a dependable spot with great food and genuine service, Woody’s Diner delivers every time. Highly recommended.

A small surf themed diner on Highway 1 in Huntington Beach/Sunset Beach, very close to the water. I live in West Los Angeles, so this area is a lot calmer and less crowded than what I am used to so it’s nice to be able to find easy parking and no lines. It’s right next-door to Harbor House Café, which is also a surf themed diner and between the two I would say that Harbor House is my favorite although Woody’s is another good option, especially if Harbor House is full. There are many Woody’s locations, I believe at least six and none are in the Los Angeles area. They are all in Orange County, this being the most northern one. Our waiter was nice, but the service was very slow. He took a while to take our orders and our food items came out pretty slowly. He also forgot my coffee and gave it to everyone else around me before me, even though I ordered before them, and by the time I inquired about it, they had to brew another batch so I had to wait even longer. They have a tiny parking lot on the side of the restaurant otherwise it’s pretty easy to find free street parking.
For my breakfast I ordered my favorite breakfast dish, which is the Eggs Benedict. I decided to try the Woody’s Benedict, which is basically a regular Benedict with cheese and gravy. I honestly thought it was pretty good and it was extremely filling. The biscuits weren’t very flaky or as good as I hoped, but I still enjoyed them. They tasted a bit like microwave biscuits versus something very fluffy and crispy.
Overall, a nice little surf theme diner in North Orange County. I would recommend if you are in the area.

Woody’s Diner in Huntington/Sunset Beach is an absolute gem! The food is delicious, classic diner fare with great portions and fresh ingredients. The atmosphere is laid-back and beachy, making it the perfect spot for a casual meal. What really made the experience stand out was the exceptional service from Jordan—friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. It’s rare to find such great service these days! If you’re in Huntington Beach and looking for a great meal with top-notch service, Woody’s Diner is the place to go! I got the surfer’s breakfast sandwich on a croissant which was delectable. Highly recommend the experience.

took my friends here to see an authentic American eatery. the place is charming, food is OK.
however, the waitress was not only very unfriendly from the moment we sat down but we also got ripped off.
what a pity for a cool place like this one.

This place is a golden nugget! Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Great breakfast choices, and delicious burgers. I tried the picante burger with loaded fries and onion rings. You need to taste their onion rings, they are so crispy and coated with a really nice crust.
If you want breakfast, order biscuits and gravy. Delish!
Staff is great, serving you with a huge smile on their faces. I can really recommend this “surfer diner” .

After walking past several full, loud restaurants we entered this small almost empty diner. Our food was wonderful. I had a Rueben cooked to perfection. The ingredients were equally distributed and the crust had a perfect crunch. The burgers looked amazing. My granddaughter was able to get the pancakes she had been wanting. They must have been delicious as she ate all of them. She usually just nibbles. I would definitely eat here again.

Been there three times now and my comments would be that they have a Friendly staff, food is typical of a small cafe with a good selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner served all day from what I can tell. Parking is minimal so you may need to park around the corner. They have a few tables inside and also more in a covered and in-closed patio.
