Honestly, this was a letdown, likely amplified by friends expectations from prior recommendations. We ordered two house favorites: the Sautéed Sand Dabs ($34) and the Crispy Fish & Chips ($28).

The sand dabs tasted exactly as described—lightly floured and finished with butter—but lacked depth. Capers were either absent or imperceptible, and the sauce did not deliver the rich, bright flavor one would expect. The listed Swank Farm vegetables amounted to blanched spinach, not quite swank.

The fish & chips was unevenly executed: one side was crisp, while the other was greasy and separating from excess oil.

On a more positive note, neighboring tables’ salads and sandwiches looked more appealing. Overall, the experience was disappointing. You will definitely see planes if you sit outside!

My friend and I got there around 10 or so for the brunch menu. Was a pretty quiet time to go which was nice. Paid 64 bucks (that’s not including tip plus we paid with card, it’s cheaper if you pay with cash). Got to watch the planes take-off and land. Server was sweet and attentive. The food was delicious, especially the hallendaise sauce. I felt like a content whale after and was able to walk it off as my friend lives a 10min walk away. They do validate parking if you drive there. Have eaten here many times and will continue to do so .

This place is a classic. It was here when I lived here 15 years ago and I remember looking forward to dining here back then.

It has not lost its luster since then. I was pleasantly surprised to see that that tiny airport restaurant charm with those amazing views of airplanes ✈️ flying in and out of the small Monterey airport hasn’t lost one bit of charm or delicacy.

See these amazing pictures. The soup offerings change but overall the menu is static. Italian cuisine is a regular with a steak or turf.

First time dining at Woodys at the Airport and I approve! I have flown out of Monterey a few times and had no idea I was missing out! I ordered the Turkey sandwich which was really good! It tasted fresh and the avocado and bacon were really good as well. I ordered the Mahalo Mule which I did like..it Could have been better..it certainly was not weak which was great because its airport prices. While dining you can see the airplanes departing/landing which is so cool! There is also a patio area to get a closer view and plenty of space if you have a nephew that needs to get those wiggles out. I’ll definitely be eating here if time permits next time I fly out!

Great food – wonderful service – stunning panoramic ocean views! Easiest parking in town. This place is fantastic.

Bryce (GM), Sydney (server), and Dalton (bartender) created a fabulous venue for a company mixer. We had 20 folks out on the patio for three hours. The team at Woody’s took very good care of us. Sydney was engaging and quick to refresh drinks and appetizers. Dalton’s cocktails were a smash hit.

If you haven’t tried Woody’s, you’re missing out. I can’t say enough good things. My coworkers and I will all be back

Woody’s is the best restaurant in Monterey! All dressings and sauces are gluten-free and made fresh in the kitchen. The food, from soups & salads to their prime rib, is always prepared wonderfully, and the prices are reasonable. It is a favorite place for locals to have celebrations. Daily specials are varied and delicious. Sydney, the very best server anywhere, is always focused on making my dining experience fantastic! This is my and my huband’s favorite place to eat for years. It is located at the Monterey Regional Airport, and they will validate 2 hours of short-term parking whenever you go

The Monterey Regional Airport (MRY) is pure nostalgia – very similar to Burbank (BUR). Old terminal building with a few “gates.” The TSA checkpoint seems out of place when you walk on the tarmac to board planes.

The best features of the the terminal are an accessible observation deck, the patio of Woody’s Restaurant and historic movie displays in the lobby.

Both Woodys and the obv deck have unobstructed views of the gates and runways. Monterey Bay’ clear blue water is also in view. Woody’s has an interesting yet manageable menu. Patty melt, fries and a sprite for me. Good local wine list, too.

The short term parking lot is nearby and low cost. With scheduled flights and lots of biz jet traffic, there’s lots to see.

BUT…

There is a new state-of-the-art terminal under construction so get to MRY and Wood’s to soak up the nostalgia while you still can.

Great “outdoor” seating with a chance to watch planes coming and going. Friendly staff and great service. Remember to take the menu option to buy a beer for the kitchen staff
