If you’re searching for a local and affordable breakfast spot near the ferry terminal in Martha’s Vineyard that opens early, Woodland is worth considering. They offer the convenience of a quick grab-and-go breakfast or a sit-down meal.
Upon entering Woodland, I had initial doubts about dining here. However, since it wasn’t my decision to visit, I proceeded inside. The atmosphere was a bit chaotic; the chef was loudly instructing the waitress to deliver orders, leading to a mix-up. The patrons at the wrong table repeatedly stated the order wasn’t theirs, while the rightful table eventually had to speak up, prompting a sharp response from the chef, who slammed her pen and notepad in frustration. This incident left me uneasy, eager to place my order quickly to avoid any further disturbance.
Despite the commotion, the waitress was pleasant and professional, seemingly accustomed to the hectic environment. I ordered French toast and eggs. The French toast was flavorful, with a strong cinnamon taste, although the bottom was overly eggy, overpowering the dish. The separate eggs were average and unremarkable.
Overall, Woodland might be a decent spot for locals seeking a quick breakfast, but it’s not necessarily a must-visit destination for those in Martha’s Vineyard.

A truly memorable experience. This hidden gem is well worth the visit. The food was incredible with unique and fresh local options. The atmosphere is beautiful and welcoming (and they have alpacas you can say hello to) and the service team was one of the best I have had, all working together with professionalism and positivity. Highly recommend.

Great egg sandwich – Kaiser roll was fresh, Taylor pork roll and white American cheese and the egg was a perfect mix of cooked and yolky…. Delicious! Cashier was friendly and food was hot. It truly is a quick stop convenience store with tables, simple and basic but cheap and delicious!

Friendly NYC bodega feel with ample seating.
I stumbled into this place with my kids. We were warmly greeted. Food was good and priced fairly. It’s the perfect stop for classic sandwiches and a local feel. Not too crowded either. It’s our family’s new hidden gem for takeout or if I need a break from cooking lunch without the big price tag.

I have never had such a beautiful meal, truly eating their food is a whole experience. They never cease to amaze me with the delicious food they serve. My personal favorite is their Egg, Bacon, and Cheese breakfast sandwich. Perfectly melted cheese with such nicely cooked eggs and bacon. 10/10!! ♥️
