The atmosphere was amazing. As I celebrated my birthday with a my spouse. The service was wonderful, Lily gave us the specials with a smile. We enjoyed our dinner, thank you so much!!!

We traveled to Woodfire for my birthday, and it was a great experience. Our server Lily, didn’t let our glasses fall below half full. Food was delicious. Great experience! Lily was very warm and welcoming even though we weren’t dressed for the occasion, and had our daughter. She brought a spoon just for her even though she was asleep, just in case she woke up for dessert!

My husband and I had an exceptional anniversary dinner at Woodfire Grille this past weekend. I placed the reservation online and noted a request for a chilled bottle of Italian Prosecco to be waiting at our table for us. We were seated immediately and our sparkling was waiting. That was the only thing that waited. Our server was attentive, friendly, and anticipated our service very well. The food was exceptional. As a retired chef, I have high standards, and Woodfire Grille met them quite well. My husband’s scallops and my prime rib were perfectly prepared and delicious. We share 2 sides – truffle fries and Brussels Sprouts – which were excellent as well. The manager stopped by our table to wish us a happy anniversary and gifted us with a lovely dessert.

Great atmosphere, great staff, I just wish the food tasted as good as it looked. The steak was cooked perfectly, but had absolutely no flavor. No salt, no pepper, no garlic, no nothing. It’s especially insulting considering they had the nerve to charge $38 for this. If your goal is to eat food that has flavor, avoid this place like the plague.

Ordered two prime rib dinners which were served like a prepackaged rectangle piece of beef. Tasted like they were precooked and then micro heated. Tough would be a kind word to use. Knife had to be ripped through meat to get a piece.Ate my loaded potato and left. Not a place i would bring someone for a birthday dinner!! Waitress was very good. Fourth time eating there. Second bad overpriced meal

The food, the service, and the atmosphere was excellent. The tomahawk was the best I’ve ever had and can feed two with enough sides. STRONGLY recommended if in galena or Dubuque! 11/10

Nic place and great food. Disappointed we placed on commentary when reserving our table we were celebrating a birthday and there was no acknowledgment. We even told the waitress and the dessert didn’t contain a candle. Disappointing.

We arrived at 7:15 for our reservation I made 2 days ahead of time, that was for 7:30, we sat at the bar and waited for our table. Finally at 7:45 we got seated. I ordered another beer, we both ordered prime rib as well as an appetizer to split. The bar was probably 6ft from me, took the server 20 minutes to get me a bushlight, as she walked past me she says your beer should be ready, I hope so it was a bottle of bushlight. Then our table had only one steak knife, so when I put my order in I asked for another steak knife. Our appetizer came, we ate, our steaks came, my steak had to sit on the edge of the table and wait another 20 minutes for a steak knife. I asked her nicely again this time was the third time. Another 20 minutes goes by and no steak knife. Server came back to ask how the food is and why I haven’t touched my steak. I told her I still need a steak knife. At this point my wife was done eating. I asked for our check and to get our food to go. I went to sign the check, and the pen didn’t work. So I closed the book and handed it back. Clearly i didn’t get to sighn and or leave a tip, I tried to tip, but the pen wouldn’t work. At this point in my head was it took this lady 20 minutes to get me a bush light, 40 minutes to get me a steak knife. At this point I haven’t even gotten a bite of my $45 steak. So we leave. The manager calls me 3 times in 10 minutes asking me to come back and sign my receipt. I told him I was fed up with waiting on service. He proceeded to attempt to get the waitress a tip. He asked me what he could do to make it up to me. I told him to do what he thinks is the right move. Apparently he felt charging me full price of my bill was the correct thing to do which is what ever. I wouldn’t recommend this place, the food was ok, and waaay over price. I will not return.

Food is irrelevant when you see all the up charges. $6 to split a check, extra charge to share a $75 steak?! The prices are high and then they up charge on every little thing?! This takes a potentially high end restaurant and makes it look low class. Just plain tacky.
