Had a great experience at Wood Ranch in Anaheim. I ordered the wood-fired tri-tip, which was flavorful and cooked just right. The fully loaded baked potato was tasty but could have been a bit bigger, and the corn on the cob was fresh and well prepared. They also served garlic bread, which was surprisingly good and a nice bonus.
Service really stood out — our waiter was very professional, attentive, and polite without being overbearing. Even better, there was no wait time on a Friday night, which was a pleasant surprise.
The interior design fits the BBQ house vibe nicely — warm and comfortable — though it could benefit from a bit of modern innovation to elevate the atmosphere further.
I also tried a Moscow Mule, and it was solid even though it was served in a glass instead of the traditional copper mug (they mentioned it wasn’t available at the time).
Overall, great food, excellent service, and a smooth dining experience. I’d definitely come back.

I ordered the BBQ combo with beef ribs and pulled pork, with mashed potatoes and corn on the cob. With the oreo ice cream for dessert. It was all delicious! The ribs were huge and meaty and cooked to perfection, with the BBQ sauce being so good I actually smeared some on my corn. The corn was grilled and seasoned so well, and the mashed potatoes were creamy and plentiful. I had a hard time choosing between the butter cake and the ore ice cream, but decided to get the ice cream, and it was amazing! The servers were pleasant and attentive, even the young man who just brought the dishes out to the table. It was a lovely meal, and I look forward to returning again.

We came here with high expectations and highly recommended. The ribs were too burn to bite and the bbq chicken was raw and rubbery. When we told the waiter, they took it back and warmed it up and brought it back. I was surprised that the chicken that we ate and touched went in the grill and came back to us- cross contamination. There was no real difference on the taste, and it was left behind. My waiter seemed to have a bad day and was making sure everyone knew about it.

Fairly mediocre, nothing notably done well. The beans were absolutely horrendous, like they dumped canned beans in a cup, added 50-50 of ketchup and BBQ sauce. Our server never stopped in to check to see how things were, so I’m telling you. A BBQ place that can’t make beans, disappointing. Mac and cheese, bland but edible.

I’m not sure how I haven’t reviewed this spot yet, but better late than never!!! One of my ALL-TIME favorite spots to eat when I’m in town. I’ll eat there 2 or 3x while in town.
I usually sit at the bar and order an espresso martini. I love that the bartenders remember me even though I only come every couple of months. They are fantastic, love their energy & vibes!
I’ve ordered a few different things off the menu, but I always go back to the classic steak and loaded potatoe! Everything always cooked perfectly and fresh! Love the fresh garlic rolls too!

Came to Wood Ranch for a quiet birthday dinner and honestly it was perfect. The chicken was spot on, super flavorful and cooked just right. Service was next level — our server Calvin was awesome. Dude was on it the whole night. Never once had to ask for anything, drinks were always full, food came out quick, everything just flowed smooth.
Easily the best service I’ve ever had anywhere. Food was great, vibe was chill, and everything about it just made for an outstanding meal. Big shoutout to Calvin and the Wood Ranch team, you guys killed it.

This was my first time here. I ordered the three bbq tri-tip sliders and they were good. The customer service here was not great. Our server hardly came to check up on us. We were a party of seven, at one point about 3 of us ran out of our drinks and couldn’t get the attention of our server. The sliders were the only thing I tried and they were good.

I am writing to formally express my deep disappointment regarding the treatment my party and I received during our recent visit to your restaurant. Upon arrival, we were seated in a corner, and from the beginning, it was clear that the level of service we received was not equal to that of other guests.
We observed that white customers around us were promptly attended to, while we were repeatedly overlooked. I had to personally request service before anyone approached our table. When plates were finally brought, no bread was provided until several minutes later. Drinks were also delayed, even though the restaurant was not busy at the time.
When our meals arrived, my wife’s steak—ordered medium well—was served rare, and the rest of the food was overcooked and burnt. At that point, we decided to pay and leave. The entire experience left us feeling disrespected and unwelcome.
We believe the poor service and dismissive attitude we experienced were influenced by racial bias. No customer should ever be made to feel less valued or ignored because of who they are. We will not be returning to this establishment, and I feel it’s important to inform others about the unequal treatment we experienced.
I urge you to address this matter seriously by reviewing staff behavior and ensuring proper diversity and sensitivity training is implemented so that no other guests experience such discrimination.

Wood Ranch has some of my favorite food selections in general. The best bbq chicken, peanut coleslaw, beef ribs, these ribs are leaner & less greasy but still good sized.
