I visited on a Monday night, and it was a good experience! The food was delicious, the service was friendly and fast, everything came out quickly, which I really appreciated. The sangria was also really good and paired perfectly with my meal. Overall, it was a smooth, enjoyable dinner spot for a relaxed weeknight.

Super disappointed in this location.came here for Valentine’s Day with a reservation for 6 pm got our drinks then had to wait 45 min just to get our salads, then waited another half and hour to get our entree i ordered the NY strip + shrimp med well with mashed potatoes and a side of Mac n cheese once out immediately noticed my shrimp was missing… guess what waiting another 10 min for that. Bit into the steak and it was med rare just seems like everything was off. Lastly I wasn’t offered a new Pepsi after it sat through all the wait. Worst 126$ spent. On another note I do recommend the Vernon location they’re fantastic always

A warm, cozy stop at Wooden Tap in Newington tonight — and wow, everything hit the spot. The tomato soup came out rich and comforting, the kind that makes winter feel a little softer. The salads were fresh and bright, and the steak… perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Add in a couple of cold beers, and it turned into the kind of simple, delicious evening that just feels good.
Definitely a place worth coming back to.

Our first time here and a great choice. Stopped for happy hour and the drinks (sangria @ margaritas) plus happy hour menu just delicious. Bar area was nearly full but we got one of the last tables and service was really good, no long waiting time for orders or delivery of food ordered.
Definitely would return or go to one of their other restaurants.
By the way, first time I saw TVs in the rest rooms.

On Saturday afternoon November 15, 2025 we arrived at the Wood n tap in Newington Ct.
We were a family party of 10 people, celebrating the Birthday of twin brothers who turned 75 years young!!
We will definitely be back. The food was delicious, had very attentive service, clean restaurant.
Our server was Cami, she was terrific!! We asked to see the manager to tell her we were very satisfied with our lunch accommodations and the friendly service from the wait staff helping to deliver our food. Thank you again…The Bernier Family!

This is our kids favorite restaurant- they love the wax sticks they hand out with the kids menus (genius- less potential mess than crayons) and their meals come with a cookie. The booths are very private which is perfect for rowdy toddlers. On the grown up side, I find their cocktails to be a bit too sweet, but I’m happy to order a glass of wine instead. I LOVED this seasonal fish dish they had in the spring, some other dishes are hit or miss, but there’s something for everyone on the menu. Wood n Tap is really perfect for an affordable meal out with the fam.

Wood N Tap is a great place. The wife and I have been to several locations many times and it is certainly one of our go-to restaurants. It is a casual atmosphere with good drinks and an extensive menu offering many great food options.
The menu changes seasonally, but there are certain items that remain… One of them being the Monster Nachos. They are delightful and even the half (small) order is huge and can be a meal in itself. There are lots of dining options; inside there is a bar and a ding area, but there is also outdoor dining which we enjoy when the weather is nice.
I can’t say enough good things about this place… Friendly, helpful staff, good drinks.
Update (6/19/2020) – Went here tonight for the first time in a while and as usual, the food and the staff were awesome.
I ordered a classic burger without the mustard & mayo, but the kitchen made a mistake.
Well, my server/waiter (Jake) was extremely apologetic as was the manager (Paul). They took it back and it was remade to order. They too good care of me and as usual, I left here happily.
I look forward to my next visit here… I gotta get the Monster Nachos!

We continue to keep Wood N Tap heavy in the rotation, although we do switch up which location we go to, Newington seems to be the quickest to get to, so the one we frequent the most.
The wait staff works hard and the food is usually good…
The only dish I have been disappointed with is the Fried Clam strips – they have much better options here…

Consistently Great Food, Drinks and Environment! We love to get their Firehouse wings as an appetizer! I had to take my wedding ring off to eat them the sauce was so good. I always get a salad and add a variant of Protein, but make sure to get the meat BLACKENED, that’s their signature!

I have loved this place and get it all the time. I get the chop house salad and last time was half the amount of usual on the steak. This time. It might’ve been 2 ounces if that. It sucks because I love the place but that keeps getting worse and I’m just not going to go back when I’m not getting what I pay for.
