Walked in and smelled heaven. You can actually see the wood, smell the smoke. The smoke has actually stained the outside of the building. My kind of place. The girl that took my order was very sweet as well. They have VERY reasonably priced specials each day. I had the small turkey tips special (pictured) which came with fries but I subbed out beans. DELICIOUS! I also ordered a 3 chicken leg meal for the hubby and it also came with fries. We got the hot sauce on both. The chicken was cooked perfectly and I’m here to tell you…. that sauce! When I say I want spicy BBQ sauce, this is exactly what I mean. It was so flavorful without being overpowered by heat. Perfect balance. I also got an order of their cabbage (also pictured). It was unlike anything I’ve ever had, but in a good way. If you’re in the area, definitely don’t sleep on this place. The food is phenomenal and, again, very reasonable prices, especially for a BBQ joint. I’ll be back next time I’m in the area. Sorry I didn’t get a Pic of the chicken meal. My husband smashed it like an Idaho potato!

I’m not from the area, but visit very often. About 2 months ago, my husband and I had their rib tips and thought they were pretty good, so we returned yesterday for more rib tips. When we got home (about an hour drive away), we started in on these tips and we’re very disappointed. More sauce and bones than anything, the ones that did have a little meat to go with the sauce and bones could’ve cooked longer (very tough). I also thought bread would’ve been included, but no.

Very nice ppl and good food however both times that I went I didn’t get ribs I got more bones,sauce and fries than meat. And I’m really upset because physically you can see the gristle. I will not be going back, and it’s a shame because I like the concept but being served bones isn’t my thing. I’m use to good barbecue and if you actually have meat on the ribs it would be better

In town for the day and decided to look for good BBQ. I found it. Delicious sauce and best okra I’ve had. Wish I had took more pictures before devouring my plate. We got the pulled chicken sandwich and a jumbo tips plus okra. Everything was great. We will definitely be back.

Overall I was not impressed and once again disappointed. I decided to try one more time and I should have stayed on my side of town. Ordered the the rib tips we we spent a nice amount of money for a am and lg tip. Meat was very tough. I don’t think I will be back.

Smoked meat was bland. Mac n cheese tasted like someone dumped the whole jar of black pepper in it. It was definitely not edible. The fries were soggy and soak then soaked in bbq sauce. Corn bread was very good. Yhe fried green tomatoes were very good. The tables chairs and booths were very dirty we were wearing black and when we got up to leave our clothes wer dirty from sitting.

I had heard so much about Wood N’Hog I had to check it out myself. The turkey tips were recommended and mehn …they hit the spot. Carried my family for brunch and Micheal himself attended to us. The meat was GREAT!!!!!!

Got small tips. Had good flavor but got some very dry pieces. The BBQ sauce is okay for my taste but I really like the fries and the portion of meat for a small. Will try something else next time.

Hidden little gem! I’ve been skeptical of trying it for a while now but the fresh aroma was too much today and I gave in. I ordered a combination of sides since I can’t eat meat anymore :’(
Mac and cheese 8/10- was really good but they do use fresh cracked black pepper so there are bigger bits of peppercorns.
Cole slaw 9/10- this is huge because I am not a Cole slaw fan usually but there’s was sweet but not too sweet and not overpowering.
The baked beans- 10/10 nothing left to spare.
Okra- 10/10 crispy goodness in every bite!
I will be frequenting this place more often.
Corn bread- 10/10 soft, fresh, sweet.My favorite part, It does have corn in it for you odd balls that don’t want corn in your corn bread.
