Initial review:
I ordered a beef dish and chicken dish. Both orders were chicken. I could tell because I know the difference between chicken and beef. The meat was white on the inside, like chicken is. I called and said maybe someone made a mistake. The guy behind the counter kept arguing that it is beef. I said it doesn’t taste like beef. He said no problem and that I could return it. When I came in to return it, he started repeating the same thing. I told him I didn’t want to argue and that I know what beef tastes like. I told him he was welcome to try it. He became very rude and accused me of lying even though I did not start an altercation. The reviews.indicated good customer service, but this boy was very impolite as I kept trying to tell him I did not want to argue.
In Response:
For clarity: I ate part of one dish believing the other dish was the beef I ordered. When I then tried the other dish, it became clear both appeared and tasted like chicken, which is why I contacted the restaurant and returned the food.
The Shacha Chicken was delicious. Just a bit sad they forgot the extra pork egg roll I ordered and paid for, but it’s all good.
My cousin got the Sweet and Sour chicken combo platter and we liked that they had the sauce on the side.
Overall: food was 10/10
I have had the chicken with garlic sauce combination 4 times. And if you are a chicken with garlic sauce fan, you know they are not all created equal. This one is fire (pun intended). It’s exactly the same each time I get it. And they follow through on my veggie preferences no problem. You can ask for the spice level you want. The pork fried rice is fantastic as you would hope and expect from Chinese takeout. Same with the veg egg roll and the shrimp egg roll. I’ve also had the bourbon chicken combo, which was very good, and hard to find outside of a food court chinese place.
Very quick service. Everything is hot and fresh and reasonable priced. I have family coming into town. I’m going to suggest this place for a gathering we will have. I’m excited to try more menu items.
As far as the atmosphere, it’s pretty typical of what you would expect of a Chinese takeout place-there’s no seating to eat in. There’s a couple seats to sit if you need to wait for you order.
This is one of my top three spots for chinese american cuisine in the city
