Visiting Gold Beach, I really wanted Chinese food, so I ordered from Wong’s because it was closest to my hotel. I ordered 1 chow mein with mushrooms for $13, it was ready in about 15 minutes and though the place had a creepy atmosphere because it was tucked down a dark eery street and I came late, Wong was a very sweet man he added extra rice in my meal, mini packet of fried noodles, a mini bag with a fortune cookie, extra soy sauce, utensils, napkins, an extra plate, and even a mini free Lipton tea packet. Such a sweet and authentic guy! And we did have a little bit of a language barrier but he made sure to confirm our order and any utensils or napkins we wanted to make our meal the best he could I dont understand the negative reveiws besides the location is pretty eery.
Oh and the boxes of food had handles!

Wongs hasn’t changed in decades, and neither have their prices. Put some of your money back in your pocket taken from the inflation of the ‘20’s and enjoy a restaurant oblivious of the outside world, for better or worse.

Ordered pork fried rice, got white rice with 4 slices of chive and pork on top. 2 orders of this rice that no one wants. Cool. Call to let the ONLY person there of this and he decided to argue with me about it. There is no Atmosphere because it is takeout only.

A wonderful woman working with her husband, she was so lovely. The food was very good and the amount of it was more than enough. Highly recommended !

I’m from LA. I know I’m at a place full of Asian cuisine. But I never thought food like this could exist. Pork Fried rice was… steamed old rice with few pieces of pork added to it… no flavor. Sweet and sour chicken was dry and almost broke my wife’s teeth. The food is almost concerning to eat with burned black oil chucks floating in everything. I know some people don’t have culinary talent, but this is cook by someone who DGAS + questionable ingredients. Mr Wong, time to retire for good.

I don’t even have the words to describe how bad everything was. It was bad so bad, down to the rice. How can an Asian restaurant screw up rice?? They should honestly buy a rice cooker if this is the result of their cooking. I ordered pork fried rice and it was a few pieces of leathery pork on top of mushy salted white rice and a few flakes of green onions? (Photo included here) The chicken they gave us feels like it was cooked 3 times because I can’t even chew that stuff. My husband said this is the first time he found a restaurant which serves food so bad he wouldn’t eat even if it was free. No idea how they got those 5 stars review. Understandably this place is carry out only. My guess is so that they don’t have to deal with customers reactions.

The Brocolli beef was excellent, the owner made fresh pork fried rice because I’m allergic to Onions. Great customer service, very attentive, our glasses never reach below half.

I ordered Cream Cheese Wontons and I get this. Had to use own cream cheese since we weren’t given any. It also kind of stunk in there

Enough food at a nice price. The Egg flower soup is great for an upset stomach,(only about$7 for a large container- not just a cup) the shrimp, sweet/sour chicken was very good and so was the white rice. The lo mein wasn’t exactly my favorite thing but the service was lovely and he even threw in some tea to go with my meal without asking or charging me for it. The place may seem a bit off putting or look out of business but sometimes people can surprise you.

Ordered to go chowmein and instead got noodles in some gravy that tasted like kimchi. The rice accompanying it seemed stale.
