Love a good coffee shop. On the drive back home from Minneapolis to Milwaukee, we were told we needed to stop in and check this place out. From the outside it looks like a small shop, but it feels bigger once you step inside. The big front windows let in plenty of natural light. There are café tables outside, and inside there are different-sized tables for small groups. The seating is mostly simple wood benches, which are not very comfortable if you plan on sitting for a long time.
We were a little disappointed that the kitchen was already closed at 2:00 p.m. The barista apologized, but not much could be done. We ended up getting a London Fog Tea Latte and a couple of cookies. (We did find a Mexican restaurant down the street for lunch, so it all worked out.) The London Fog was very good, with a little lavender, a little vanilla, and extra foam. The peanut butter cookie was just okay, but the cardamom ginger cookie was amazing, similar in taste to a molasses cookie.
Would definitely like to come back sometime to try the food, enjoy a couple more hot beverages, and sit outside on the patio, rather than on the inside wood box seats.

So good we went for coffee and breakfast two mornings in a row. Saturday morning visits before the market make for a perfect start to the weekend. Go early to avoid the rush

You can tell the coffee here is made with a lot of care. The fresh roast comes across in how smooth the coffee tastes. Amazing! Highly recommend to anyone craving a balanced sip!

Visiting the Viroqua area for a wedding and had read great reviews. We were busy all weekend with wedding festivities, but were able to check it out on our way out of town. Beautiful coffee shop and great and friendly staff. Coffee was excellent and the freshly made from scratch quiche was even better. They wisely have some great merchandise including t-shirts and mugs. Highly recommend. I hope when I come back that they will have some sugar free options available.

We came here twice over MEA weekend. The first time we both got the breakfast sandwich, next I got the bagel with lox and my husband got the sandwich. I recommend both, but the bacon on the sandwich gives it a slight edge. The coffee is great. There is a water station with a still and bubbly option. The place had a really nice vibe with a steady stream of people getting in their morning fix.

This was the best cup of coffee I have ever had. I got the Harvest blend as a cafe au lait. It had a fresh and nutty taste that stayed with me in a good way. I also got a Kouign Amann that was otherworldly, crispy on the outside, a salty crust, and chewy and lightly sweet on the inside. I wish I did not live 4 hours away.

I have learned that it is worth timing our drive from the Twin Cities to Lake Geneva, WI just so we catch open hour here. The fresh baked goods case is a show stopper! The coffee is very fresh – made with premium organic coffee beans. The environment was friendly, clean, pleasant, yet lively with customers and local conversation. The customer service, décor, and bright interior fit the spot.
It’s the food that is totally exceptional. We had a chance to meet the day’s baker and tell her thank you. My fruit scone – and I am a total scone nerd – was one of the best that I’ve ever had in three countries. The lemon frosted pound cake with a nice touch of grated lemon was moist and superb with all the taste you want in a pound cake.
We had the pulled pork sandwich on their homemade bread – again excellent! They are generous with the meat portion. The most amazing for me was the fresh daily garden salad. Filled with bacon, egg, avocado, sprouts, marinated peppers, and other garden vegies – it was so fresh one would think that you saw them pick the ingredients from the garden! It was served with a poppy seed dressing that was a perfect complement to the other flavors.
They source local organic milk and other ingredients from organic farmers in the area. I like that.
Wi-Fi is available and several folks inside and out were using it. Very reasonable prices. The scone was worth twice the price. The Almond & Oat Jam bars are gluten free – I don’t know how anyone enjoying the fragrance of them baking can resist one. Limited parking on the lot, but we had no problem finding a spot across the street.
Highly, highly recommended!!!

This is our favorite coffee shop and roaster in the world, and we are not exaggerating. The people, the coffee, the pastries and more are top-notch. We have enjoyed their coffee beans at home since our local People’s Food Co-op supplies us with freshly Wonderstate Coffee whole beans. We love their seasonal blends, but the best is their offerings from Ethiopia. I have interacted with many of their staff and feel like family when we’re in their presence. Thanks Wonderstate for your creativity, hospitality, and excellence. Cheers! ☕

Great coffee, danishes and the bagel and lox was wonderful! The inside can get super loud which makes it tough to hear when your order is up but the food makes it worthwhile

It once housed a very special breakfast and lunch item. The burger.. truly a remarkable and delicious burger that I didn’t care what the price was. It was what I looked forward to every visit. I would tell everyone about it, how it still is today, the best burger that I have ever had.
