The decor is so fun! It’s casual, but they added fun elements like a faux tree in the back and a large moose head up front. Lots of TVs make it easy to watch multiple games at once. They also have darts, shuffleboard, and it’s dog-friendly—woot! They also have a parking lot, which makes life easier.
We didn’t eat here, so I can’t speak to the food, but if we lived locally, this would definitely be our home bar. Looking forward to returning soon!
Has beers other than the German brews on tap. Similar environment with free peanuts.
A little more rustic but has a parking lot and German food from a kitchen. Regularly shows Soccer games and opens early for games from over the pond.
Over this past year, some of the patrons have become the most unbearable, intolerable people I’ve seen. Around closing time, many of the severely inebriated people sit in the parking lot, revving their vehicles in some sort of strange ritual for 10, 15, 30 minutes at a time. This practically wakes up the entire building around between 12-2am in the morning. The apartment windows vibrate. December 20th was the worst so far this year.
I’ve known two apartments that have moved specifically because of how obnoxious and rude Wolff’s patrons are. We’ve spoken to the city attorney. We’ve spoken to management. But it just keeps going. The fact that the owners or bar managers don’t stop these people from doing this is what makes it even worse. Even the bar’s bouncer is part of this bizarre, absurd behavior. These people should be ashamed of themselves.
Wolff’s Biergarten and some of their patrons have a complete disregard for their neighbors. Loud music and loud people are one thing. It’s a bar. But the outwardly insufferable behavior, and the seeming approval of bar management, has turned this area into a cesspool and a stain on downtown Schenectady. Wolff’s is a public menace.
