Charming cafe and lovely to eat outside. Grab and Go wrap from fridge was healthy and flavorful but very expensive ($15). Hard to have a casual lunch with family due to high cost. We miss the more low key and affordability ‘snack shack’ from the old days.

We took our kids here because we wanted to check out the farm, but it was a mistake. It was not a cafe of farm fresh foods like we thought, but more like a canteen where you could get prepackaged sandwiches. VERY overpriced. The PB&J sandwiches were $11 and you had to spread the peanut butter and jelly yourself. We decided to stay because we have small children who are not very flexible with lunch times, but there are plenty of other places to eat in Freeport for less money and better food. Eat somewhere else and then come visit the farm.

Wanted to support this place so badly, but even with low expectations it was just very unfortunate. “Fresh” food was an overstatement. It’s August, so I’m not sure why there wouldn’t be fresh foods…anyway. Breakfast sandwich was pretty bad – it said on a Thomas English muffin (not too great to begin with), but it was definitely just Hannaford or another off brand. It wasn’t even toasted. It just had an egg on it that wasn’t cooked (that could be okay under a lot of circumstances but the white wasn’t cooked). It was so cold and dry. For $10. $4 for a cup of coffee brewed incorrectly, also cold. … I’m also not sure how I felt about it smelling like livestock manure as we sat outside to eat food….

First impression: Cashier texting and on his phone, sloppy appearance long hair and nails. Another employee ran in the kitchen looking like she just came out of the campground with a half shirt! Almost left before we ordered but stayed because of the reviews.

Great food in a small shack. Pizzas are awesome and burgers are surprisingly good. Pickles are also delish! They do woodfire pizzas on Friday and Lobster dinners on Saturdays. Downside is they are only open from June to September.

Unbelievable baked goods!! The scones were killer and they even have gluten free scones. I had blueberry lemon glazed and thier grilled blueberry muffins were amazing!! Try the corned beef hash outstanding and the chic pea salad just Wow!! Folks were so friendly and helpful and you can hang right at the counter and chat. It was a great experience!!

Surprisingly good food for a campground-based outfit – but really there should be no surprise at all since they are sourcing as much as they can from the farm right there at Wolfe Neck. Here local means an arms length away at best, a short walk at most! Try the hot dog for an old school treat or a Gifford’s Ice Cream (OK, locals, Skowhegan isn’t a short walk, but it is still in Maine!) if you’ve earned dessert exploring the farm and/or the contiguous State Park by foot or by kayak.

Can’t rate this place highly enough! Very small menu but everything was delicious, loved the wood fired pizza night and home raised meat burgers were superb. Fussy kids finally went quiet and struggled on when they were already full as they didn’t want to waste a thing. Great to know they use their own organic farm ingredients as much as possible.
