We wanted to love it. It’s cute and clever with the fusion approach. Staff were kind, helpful and patient. And, Anime theme is fun. But, the food was a bit disappointing. Too saucy (and tomato base?) and small(er) portions … however, Crab Rangoon was yummy.

I am so impressed with the food. I am sorely disappointed in the atmosphere in the building and the “no phone” new-age thing. When asked about it, she says they don’t have time for it. Other than pizza Chinese is like the second in the take-out industry and especially with a lot of older folks in the area that just don’t understand QR codes, it’s a shame. The deep fried dark meat is disgustingly huge so the white meat is really my only option. Also the hours are terrible as I can’t even take my family in to try it as they are closed most of the time. Also no fountain drinks. But again, then again the sesame with white meat and house dish are amazing.

I went with a coworker to this place for take out and we both got sesame chicken. It was delicious! The chicken was well seasoned and tasted authentic. The crab Rangoons were FANTASTIC! The boba I ordered was okay but the flavor was a little bland, although it was my first time trying bubble tea so I was probably just not used to it lol. The inside of the restaurant is super cool!! They had awesome wall decor and tons of anime related art! Anime fans will enjoy the atmosphere here! The plastic fork and knife that came with our takeout were nice and sturdy.

I had today off and was in Alpena finally the same time they were opened! I’m glad I did! I’m a huge fan of spicy, and was recommended getting the hotter dish with the spice. 10/10 best food I’ve had so far in Alpena, I hope they would try out opening up on the weekends for us outside of the local area!

i feel like the aesthetic is the main draw of the place, if you’re into that sort of thing. Heavy anime influences, while claiming an “Asian Fusion” menu. The food is pretty average as of now, but they are a fairly new establishment and it does seem like they’re trying to grow. I hope they do succeed, I just feel it might be better to decide whether they want to go full anime/Japanese (because ironically there really isn’t much on the menu if at all for Japanese dishes) or make a more balanced Asian Fusion aesthetic. It’s hard to tell who their target customer base is.
Again, I do like to see something different in the area but it really just seems like they wanted to continue with a Chinese restaurant but also really, REALLY like anime too.

The sesame chicken is outstanding! The crab rangoons will send you to heaven and you’ll want to bathe in the plum sauce! In a town of oil heavy Chinese food, Wok n’Otaku manages to make light and delicious food that doesn’t sit in the bottom of your stomach. Everything is fresh, tasty, well-seasoned, and well executed. The staff is lovely and friendly. The lemonades are refreshing and fun. This has become my go-to lunch places. Portions are generous but not overwhelming.

A fun anime themed restaurant that has some amazing food. Their Rangoon is to DIE for, and their plum sauce that comes with it is even better. Thankfully they bottle and sell it, but make sure to get some or you’ll regret it like I have in the past!

Sesame chicken was excellent with large portions and fresh flavor. Online ordering is super easy, just come in and pick up. Atmosphere is very modern. Staff were friendly and smiling.

Absolutely amazing place! Not a huge menu but its not a huge place. Its super comfy and has a little for everyone. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is very delicious. As an anime fan, the decoration is wonderful but not in your face if you’re not into it. Definitely a great place to stop for a nice sized plate of food!
