We had a great dining experience here! The food was very good, hot, fresh, and an excellent selection, too! We especially enjoyed the fresh sushi, pho, and shrimp! The cooked asparagus and green beans on the bar are delish! Everything was very clean and organized. We had good service, and the food was served piping hot!!! It’s the ultimate variety of Asian foods here. To us, Joy Wok is the very best in Topeka! This Joy Wok is even better than the ones we’ve visited in KC.

Excellent food for takeout and great value for the amount of food they give you. First time here and I found them via searching. I had the Moo Goo Gai Pan with steamed rice and it was scalding hot and fresh. Definitely returning while in Topeka. Dining area was very clean as well.

Absolutely loved this place! The food was delicious, fresh, and came out fast. Portions were generous, and prices were super reasonable — great value for the quality. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the space was clean, open, and welcoming.

Worst service that I received yet, the lady was so unprofessional. I asked about an item on the menu and when she got confused with my question she walked away and started cooking. She then came back and asked the customer behind me were they placing an order or picking up ignoring me. She didn’t want to speak to me and kept talking past me. Even had the audacity to ask my boyfriend if he need anything when he said he’s with me she got an attitude and brushes him off.

The restaurant owner was very rude. Just because we took a little while to order, she refused to serve us, and simply because we took a moment to decide what we wanted to eat, she got angry and even threatened to kick us out. This is the first time we’ve ever had such terrible service at a restaurant; in all other restaurants, the staff is friendly. But here, it was completely disrespectful.

Update to your response of my review: your explanation about rangoon is off track. There was no questions about that at any time. I knew they were 6, and I wanted 6. There were questions about the tofu dishes/options and the woman at the front counter was very sharp and rude. She seemed like we were bothering her and wanted an order NOW. We had legitimate questions due to diet restrictions. It was if she couldn’t be bothered…. which actually set the tone for the whole visit.
Maybe a more calm, listening approach and response would work better.
Plus, slow down, there is a strong language accent that can easily complicate the whole exchange.

The food was just ok.
The service was rude and hurried… hard to understand the woman and she tried to rush us rudely.
The dining area is cheap, dirty, like an old run down strip mall dive.
Pathetic.

My new Chinese food spot
The general tso chicken is literally amazing, if you get anything, get that.
The lo mien was perfect
The rice fed my soul
The crab rangoon could be better especially since all the other food was beyond amazing but the rangoons are big and a good deal for the price

Food is bomb and the people working were so friendly. Best place I’ve eaten at in a long time. It didn’t break the bank either. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

We ordered takeout this past Saturday; my girlfriend ordered the jalapeño beef and I ordered the Szechwan chicken. (We also shared a steamed dumpling appetizer)
The dumplings were very good and the dipping sauce was fantastic.
The jalapeño beef had a ridiculous amount of jalapeños in it. We ate some of the jalapeños but it seemed the ratio was 3 jalapeño slices for one piece of meat (see the attached photo, she pulled all the meat out). These jalapeños were not mild by any stretch of the imagination, nor de-seeded. I would be cautious ordering this dish and/or ask them to go light on the jalapeños.
The Szechwan chicken was good! I had it with the egg fried rice and it was more food than I could finish it one sitting.
