So we went downstairs and I asked for a menu she said “Sorry we don’t have any it is just bar food everything is fried and it was written on a board behind the bar” This was very difficult to see but noticed it was very limited no burgers, hotdogs, or bbq but wanted to try because we were hungry.
Food, the bartender wasn’t kidding everything was indeed fried. First time ever seeing a menu where you can order so many things by the singles or how many ever if there was a minimum by the singles. I personally ordered 8 fried mushrooms (was the minimum) and jalapeno poppers (no amount listed) which they gave me 5 of with ranch for $5 total. The ranch was awful, jalapeno poppers excellent, fried mushrooms had no seasoning or flavor aside from mushroom in my opinion but I do enjoy mushrooms. My friend let me use the extra honey mustard which was good and I ate it with my mushrooms. I would love to know when their restaurant is open to try it and adjust my rating if needed. The price was excellent.
Service was great, the bartender who looked like she was doing everything but frying food was very sweet, had great casual conversation, was very considerate of my dogs seeing if they needed water when she came outside to check on us, bring our food, and have a smoke break.
I loved the atmosphere for the decor, the people, the bartender, and the fact she even let me bring my dogs to the outside patio and offered to get them water which was very sweet. The decor was clever with their use of motorcycle or automobile parts or accessories, the bathrooms labeled as “Pointers” and “Sitters”, they had 3 pool tables, a shuffle board table, and a few machine operated games everything pay to play. There was clearly setup for a show tonight going on but nothing that I could see posted about who was playing or when but everyone going in and out were nice and I am pretty sure everyone greeted my dogs as well. The reasons I had to mark down the atmosphere to a 3 was because one on the inside there were very large noticable cobwebs and dust over everything and the very big two was that they had a listed smoking section which was very clearly outside with all the ashtrays but the ONLY entrance was right in the middle of it which is an issue. I have chronic bronchitis am allergic to smoke, there wasn’t anyone smoking when we arrived thankfully or I probably wouldn’t have wanted to order anything but after we ordered and paid we sat down furthest away from the main smoking sitting areas and found I couldn’t move the ashtray (motorcycle helmet) away from the center of the table which was full of cigarettes already. I tried dodging the smoke from patrons and employees who came out to smoke and thought I did pretty well but I am definitely feeling it and coughing tonight but that’s a me problem now. I would just love for places to take others like me into consideration who want to enjoy the atmosphere be outside but don’t smoke. An idea like put a saloon door entrance for smokers and one for us wussies that can’t hack it to separate the outside area a bit even though smoke travels at least it is better than being right beside someone smoking especially during busy times.
I hope to return for the service I got and have a better score for food and atmosphere.
