The employees here were very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was cozy. Our food came out relatively quickly and it wasn’t very busy for a late Friday morning. The biscuit sandwich I had was one of my favourites. The biscuits were so soft and buttery, the chickens with honey was cooked perfectly, the grits were so good. I will definitely come back next time I’m in Pittsburgh! This place is definitely a must visit.

We went about 945 on a Sunday morning. There was a line but if was very efficient. Menus were available at the door and while we were standing in line, someone came to take our take out order. Our food was ready in about 12 minutes. Everything was delicious. We ordered the Biscuits and Gravy with over easy egg, the Country Ham plate with a side of greens and a Chicken Biscuit. I wish the greens had some pot liquor in the container. That the only reason I gave 4 stars for food.

This place is so good. Everything is made pretty much from scratch or local ingredients. Baked goods included and the selections rotate. Coffee is great and service is very attentive and kind. Can be busy but worth the wait. Love the biscuit sandwiches and the breakfast potatoes!

Southern country cookin in Pittsburgh and it’s amazing even by NC standards? Are you kidding me? Outstanding food And customer service, Wise lives up to it’s ratings. Well earned and deserved! Short walk to the stadium. Small dining area but the staff expertly gets folks in and out and separates eat in from take out. Don’t let the line outside discourage you. It is well worth the wait and the line moves faster than expected.

Holy mother of biscuits! I didn’t realize Pittsburgh was in the south?! On our last morning in town before leaving, we decided to come to Wise County Biscuits for breakfast, and it did not disappoint.
After placing our order at the counter, we took a seat at a table and waited for our meal. To start, we shared the cinnamon sugar biscuit bites; think biscuit meets churro meets cinnamon sugar doughnut. They were the perfect sweet little appetizer we needed.
For my dish, I could not resist the classic biscuits and gravy. To wash it all down I had an iced vanilla coffee. Yum, Yum, Yum, Yum! The biscuits were buttery and flaky without being dense. The gravy had great flavor and it could not have been a more perfect meal.
f you are craving some stick to your ribs, delicious breakfast food, this spot needs to be number one on your list.

My, my, my!
A few considerations: Wise does not offer reservations. The experience is designed to walk in, get in line, order your food, pay and tip, and you will then be seated at the first available table. Keep in mind this is not the largest space and the joint is in demand! We waited maybe 10 minutes in line and were seated directly after.
Wise County Cafe has been on list for a while. We ordered the Biscuits & Sausage Gravy, a Bacon, Egg and Cheese Biscuit, a side of potatoes and De Fer Coffee! Simply put, the food was great. I felt the food was fresh, delicious, and fitting for the atmosphere. My husband felt the food was a tad salty. After investigating myself, I could agree the food was slightly salty but it did not ruin my experience! The food was truly delicious.
The atmosphere was so impressive! The cohesive design makes you think of grandmas kitchen with a modern flair. I loved the layout where you could look at the locally made products from the region while waiting in line. Well thought through, and inviting. Everything I look for in a restaurant.
Overall I am delighted we had the chance to try Wise County Cafe. It is conveniently located on the North Side. The restaurant has a soul that makes me want to return next weekend, again, and again. Thank you Wise, keep up the great work!

I showed up to Wise County Biscuits fully prepared for battle. Many reviews warned about parking nightmares and lines long enough to make you question your life choices. In fact, this was not my first time attempting to come here. I had arrived many other times and circled for a while and couldn’t find parking or I would finally find parking and the line would be down outside the door. Clearly the universe was in a good mood this Sunday, because I rolled up and snagged a parking spot directly in front of the door. I felt chosen. Blessed. Like the biscuit gods had opened a portal just for me. Inside, there was no line! I manifested that on my drive in. As soon as I walked in, A super-friendly guy was cleaning tables and handed me a menu and told me to order at the counter. By the time I was done ordering a seat had become available. On to the food & beverages. I will be honest: I’m a certified coffee snob, so the iced coffee wasn’t my soulmate. But the hibiscus tea? A floral little hug. Loved it.
The corned beef hash with chimichurri was incredible. The biscuit that came with it? I crowned it with a glorious drizzle of sausage gravy, and suddenly I understood why people wait in long lines for this place. I would too. Happily.
Then I tried the fried chicken biscuit with honey and butter plus a side of home potatoes, and let me tell you! That chicken biscuit could fix broken hearts. Those potatoes could end political conflicts. The whole meal was outrageously good.
Believe. The. Hype.
If there had been a wait, I now know it would have been worth every minute. Honestly, I might line up next time just for the full dramatic experience.

The food here is amazing! Perfectly cooked fried chicken. Grits like them make them in Georgia. Fluffy biscuits. Crunchy and perfectly cooked potatoes. Blueberry scones possibly the best i’ve ever tried. Service is on-point! Wasn’t a fan of their coffee, but will definitely return.
Update oct 2025: returned and it’s still amazing! Best fried chicken and scones!!

Walking into Wise County Biscuits feels like stumbling upon a little piece of Southern comfort right in Pittsburgh. My friend and I went for breakfast the other day, and we were blown away. The biscuits are everything you want them to be—warm, flaky, and full of buttery goodness. Paired with their fantastic coffee, it made for the perfect start to the morning.
What I love most is the menu—it’s not just your standard breakfast lineup. Each dish has its own unique twist, with plenty of Southern charm that makes the whole experience memorable. It’s the kind of place where you immediately start planning your next visit before you’ve even finished your meal.
Wise County Biscuits has quickly become one of my favorite breakfast spots in the city, and I can’t wait to go back and try more!

First time here after it was recommended by some friends who love it. Situated on a quiet street in Pittsburghs North Side surrounded by brownstones, parking can be a little tricky. Grab a menu, wait in short line, and order dine in or to go. A nice Lunch and Breakfast menu, but we came for the Sausage Biscuits and Gravy which did not disappoint. The homemade star of the show Biscuits were perfect. The Sausage gravy was a little on the sweeter side but the added Egg is a nice touch. The potatoes were spiced wedges and very tasty. Fried Chicken biscuit was cooked perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the outside..ask for a little extra honey, or add some Crystals Hot Sauce for some spice. For a sweet treat we added the Cinnamon Sugar Bites, so good. We’ll be back to try more of the menu! Worth the trip!.
