When they said they’re having their 10th wedding anniversary dinner at Pier 39 I imagined it was going to be at a nice fishhouse with white table clothes, you know a fancy place. So..I asked which restaurant will it be ..and they said “Our favorite restaurant in the city the Wipeout Bar & Grill, it’s where we met..We go there all the time, it’s fabulous!” Well, I interpreted that as a recommendation, and off I went to brave the window smashers down on the Wharf and head straight to the Wipeout Bar & Grill. I had a bacon cheeseburger and had them put some grilled onions on it along with some onion rings, and everything was simply amazing! 5 ☆☆☆☆☆ for sure!

Stopped at Wipeout Bar & Grill on Pier 39 with friends, and it was a fun, easygoing spot with great views and a lively vibe. We grabbed a round of beers, which came out cold and quick perfect for a sunny day on the pier.

We ordered a few dishes to share, and everything hit the spot. The Wipeout Nachos were loaded and definitely the star of the table plenty of cheese, jalapeños, beans, guac, and sour cream, and big enough for a group. The Garlic Fries were crispy with a strong garlicky punch (in the best way), great for snacking with drinks.

I also had the Baja Tacos, which were fresh and flavorful with a nice mix of crunch and spice. The Sizzling Shrimp Bowl was another standout hot, well-seasoned shrimp over rice with veggies, served sizzling just like the name suggests.

Overall, solid drinks, generous portions, and great energy right in the middle of Pier 39. A fun spot for casual food, drinks, and hanging out by the waterfront. Would definitely come back!

Portions here are ginormous! We started with the Wipeout Nachos with steak as an appetizer, and they were hands-down our favorite…perfect for sharing.

I ordered the El Pastor Burrito, and it was packed with flavor in every bite. My wife got the Baja Fish Tacos and said they were delicious — the best cod she’s ever had!

Overall, great food, generous portions, and a fun atmosphere. Definitely a spot we’d come back to!

Standard bar and grill. Surfing decor.

Combo of high tops and tables for seating, plus a bar. Outdoor seating available.

Nachos were great! Pizza-so,so. Burgers just okay. Service was very slow. Maybe short staffed or something, because the restaurant wasn’t crowded.

TVs around with various sports on.

Shared bathroom which ruined it for me. I don’t like being in a stall next to the opposite sex.

They are on Pier 39 so there are fun shops and things to do right there.

We headed into the city for fleet week which was a spectacle to see. We came for a late lunch (around 3:30) and the place was packed. We have been here before and enjoyed it.

The kids had fish and chips which they devoured which is always great. I had the hot honey chicken sandwich. Which had some weight to it. The fries were nice and the sandwich was very good with all the pickles and coleslaw. The chicken was pretty tender and an actual piece of chicken not a pre-made burger which I enjoyed. The spice was subtle but pleasant. My only complaint was the very limited hot honey. The small amount I tasted was very nice it just could have had 4x the amount that was on there. Otherwise it was nice.

My wife had the calamari and fries. They didn’t bring it initially and may have been left in the warmer for a few minutes as the plate was very hot when it arrived. The calamari was over cooked and a little tough. But the taste was ok. Overall 3 meals out of four were pretty good.

We have had the calamari before and it has been cooked very well and tender. I guess they were just busier than usual today

We had a lovely dinner at Wipeout Bar & Grill on Pier 39. The California Burrito I had was absolutely delicious — flavorful, well-seasoned, and super satisfying. My daughter tried the Spicy Fish Sandwich, which was good but a bit too crispy for her taste. My son enjoyed the Classic Burger with cheese and bacon — juicy and cooked just right. My wife had the Grilled Salmon Salad and really liked it — fresh ingredients and nicely grilled salmon.

The atmosphere is casual and fun, with a laid-back surf vibe and friendly service. Great place to relax and enjoy a meal with a view of the bay. We’d happily come back!

It was good. Decent prices considering it is on pier 39.
I had the California burger, cooked medium. Could have used a tiny bit more seasoning but prepared very well.
My daughter had the California burrito with steak and the steak was fantastic!
Staff was friendly, service was fairly quick.
They do have a bathroom that confuses a lot of people because it is 1 sink area for everyone and then individual unisex toilet rooms. A sign could be helpful.

After a brief stint behind bars at the Alcatraz prison, we three newly reformed inmates craved, as other inmates before us, a delicious burger.

Atmosphere was great. Our boy liked the surfboard tables. The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was great. The house made chips were awesome as were the garlic fries.

Bathroom situation was a little wonky with a wall of communal sinks outside each corresponding abode.

I do have to say, the price point for two burgers and a basket of 6 wings was steep. This same meal anywhere else would have been at least $40 less than what we paid. We can only surmise these price points reflect location and not necessarily the decadence of the meals.

I had fish and chips at Wipeout Bar & Grill on Pier 39, and it was honestly the worst fish and chips I’ve ever had. The fish had a very thick batter and barely any actual fish inside — I couldn’t even eat it. I ended up only eating the fries, which were just average, nothing special. I was expecting something fresh and delicious from a seaside fish restaurant, but it tasted more like cheap frozen food. Really disappointing for the location.
