I came all the way down to the Hayward Plextron Auditorium for a special showing of what is called the Blue Grand Tornanado that was picked up in the vicinity of Area 51 back in 1961 but I really wanted to see the Metellurgical Analysis of the materials, because none of the alloys used in its composition are from this planet. Then I’m going straight to the Winton Deli for just about the best sandwich in the bay area! The Winton Deli is always a 5 star experience! ☆☆☆☆☆

Some of the reviews written here are kind of weird — lol. Winton Deli is a typical no-frills corporate deli in the industrial zone. It’s like stepping back in time to the late 1980s decor-wise, dim lighting, basically no thought toward the visuals except basics. So, no one hangs out, they usually order and go. Lots of tables though, and prob a good place to have a meeting (minus the lady vacuuming your feet at 1:30). But it’s right next to my job and by the Hayward regional shoreline park. And the veggie sandwiches are INSANELY GOOD. The sourdough bread is PERFECT. You can have a conversation about Food with the Asian cashier guy, who I thought was a nice guy and enjoy having a good conversation on the merits of each sandwich. When it comes to veggie sandwiches it is PERFECT. I don’t know about that roast beef sandwich, but I PLAN my time to include this deli’s veggie pesto sandwich whenever I hike or bike at the park, as well as work lunch. It is that good !!! I’ll order one to go, too. It’s THAT hole in the wall. Go. Don’t go to boring Starbucks, go here. You must try to experience the contrast in amazing food and awful interior. There should be a movie made about this deli. It is just so Bay Area.

I ordered the warm club sandwich on a sourdough roll. It was really good. The lady cooking was super nice and helpful. The guy at the register didn’t seem so welcoming at all but I’ll be going back for sure

Clean and efficient with a wide variety of deli sandwiches. Nice dining area w/ tv’s.
Not open on weekends due to the location in a business park that typically is active on weekdays. Try the turkey delight sandwich… fresh and healthy with a mix of veggies on thinly sliced roast turkey meat. Yum!

The staff has zero personality. Very matter-of-fact, although I don’t go there for a conversation. But really? The guy at the cash register is about as rude as they come. But the food is good, hence the reason I gave them three stars.

I had never been here before… Sadly my 1st experience was not a good one. I ordered a French dip.. I get back to my office take it out of the bag, Dip it in the ajus…take a bite and the bread just didn’t taste right. It was the sourest (if that’s a word) sourdough I have EVER tasted or the bread was bad. So it was a complete waste of money. I tried to eat some of the roast beef. But even that tasted tasted sour.

Taking Advantage of People. Down in the area today. Trying to buy as much take-out as possible since so many business are struggling. We jumped on google found this deli, looked at the menu with pictures on their website and ordered. If you frequent any restaurant at all, you know the the real thing never looks like the picture. However, this is very sad. Their menu was limited which is understandable but when we got our sandwiches, I laughed out loud. The pictures say it all. If you’re in the area, spend your money at a location that will treat you like a valuable customer.

Winning got a hot pastrami sandwich. Got it on a bread roll. There was very little pastrami in it. Had no flavor. And it was a little pricey. I will not go back.
