“Start your day right — this place knows breakfast!”
Absolutely loved everything about this breakfast spot. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I ordered the avocado toast with poached eggs — perfect texture and seasoning! The staff was welcoming and made us feel right at home.
Great coffee, cozy atmosphere, and generous portions. Definitely coming back for brunch this weekend!

First time visitor while in town for a wedding. We arrived to friendly staff and immediate seating. We ordered an egg platter with home fries, bacon, and toast, and an omelette with home fries, and a pancake. Everything was good. It arrived fast and hot. The portions were nice and price was reasonable.

First visit here under the new ownership. It was fine for what I wanted. The owner was friendly and cordial. The coffee was good and in a ceramic mug. The home fries were pretty good as well. I enjoyed viewing the veteran’s pictures on the wall. A very veteran friendly place, it appears, as was with the previous owner. Next time you are in leave a little extra to buy a veteran a coffee, if you can. A small way to say Thank you for their service. Pay it forward as they say. I’ll be visiting again as they have a variety of items I’d like to try

The staff and owner Roger are wonderful. The food and drinks are amazing, and fresh. You really can’t beat the price, please if you ever have a chance! Come to Winthrop Center Cafe. Also, they have a cleaning service, very hard working people who love to help and serve. I’m from Chicago and easily this is top 3 best breakfast spots for me. Great spot.

They have the best steak and cheese I’ve ever eaten. I can’t order steak and cheese anywhere else now. I also love their home and french fries, sautéed vegetables and egg sandwiches. I am looking forward to trying all the new Brazilian options. Everything is well seasoned and made to order. The coffee is smooth and not bitter. The photo is only part of the portion size.

A quaint bagel place that knows what a good bagel is. It’s a chewy egg bagel sandwich in the picture. No bad points. Maybe can work on quantity and making a more unique menu that makes them stand out more.

They treated my friend badly, they didn’t serve him well, they yelled at him when my friend went to pick up an Uber order.

Winthrop Center Cafe is a hidden gem that feels like a warm hug from your grandmother’s kitchen.

From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the kind of cozy, small-town charm that’s getting harder and harder to find. The smell of sizzling bacon and fresh brewed coffee hits you like a wave of comfort, and suddenly, you’re home. The staff are the sweetest people—genuinely kind, attentive without hovering, and always ready with a smile that makes your whole morning better.

The food? Simple, classic, and perfect. Fluffy pancakes, golden home fries, eggs cooked just the way you like them—nothing fancy, just deliciously right. It’s the kind of breakfast that reminds you of childhood weekends, sitting at your nana’s table while she fusses over your plate and insists you eat just one more bite.

And perhaps most touching of all is the quiet pride the café takes in honoring local heroes. The walls are lined with photographs of veterans, and there’s a palpable sense of respect and gratitude in the air. It’s humbling and beautiful—a reminder of the strength and heart of the Winthrop community.

Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Winthrop Center Cafe is the kind of place that leaves you feeling a little lighter, a little fuller (in more ways than one), and a lot more grateful. Highly, highly recommend.

How this place got good reviews! Got a muffin that was stone cold. Was as if it was in the freezer and not thawed properly. The coffee was the worse coffee I’ve ever had, swamp water would be a better choice! The price for this garbage was ridiculous. Don’t know about their food, but if this any indication I guess I’ll never know. Fact is I’ll never go back!

Wow this place has gone downhill. I used to come here often. Came back and the entire atmosphere and tables have changed for the worse. Waited forever, Undercooked eggs and potatoes, bad breakfast sandwich, stale muffin. Jeez.
