The staff are friendly, professional, and provided outstanding service. I was within 30 minutes of closing time but they graciously sat me and took my order. Had pumpkin cheesecake and hot cocoa while I used wifi to catch up some work. Got the work done and enjoyed the delicious cheesecake b4 they closed. Fast service! Wish I could go back for another slice but was only visiting.

I went here for an early lunch. Staff was kind upon entry and the service was great the whole time. The food tasted decent and you could tell it was made in a clean kitchen and the fries and curds were made in clean oil. The burger tasted great. Overall a great experience.

Great local Wisconsin diner experience. If you leave hungry thats your fault. Big tasty portions and a very good price. Northwoods decorations and pictures of historical logging. Conveniant and fast service. Would stop in again if I am in the area.

This is the place to stop if you’re hungry. We stopped and grabbed the Fish Fry Plate for Two, the Breakfast Burger, and the Family Burger. The burgers were some of the best we’ve had in a while, and the fish plate was and came with a ton of sides. The German Potato salad is a nice change of pace from the regular fries and tots type of potato sides. Our waitress was amazing and the salad bar is not bad (though I don’t think I would ever opt for the unlimited option).

Stopped at this Gem of a Family restaurant on the way to the Upper Peninsula. We were seated right away. The waitress was nice and friendly. The food was made very quick. We got our food 10min after ordering. Our Breakfast came hot, fresh and delicious. I got the yummy french toast. Breakfast is served until 2pm except Fridays. For a quick bite to eat on the road we were in and out within 20min with full and satisfied stomachs.

This place is a top notch family restaurant. Come hungry! I had a monster omelet, no hashbrowns and it was massive and very tasty. Side of bacon was great, too. This meal was so big, I will be skipping lunch. I have been intermittent fasting and eating low carb, do this was a treat, and they made the requested modifications to make it low carb. Service was fast, coffee tasted great, and this one of the top rated restaurants in our area and for a reason. Come here! They are also well known for fish fries. My son loves the pancake which is great and as big as the plate. Fast service.

I ordered the turkey dinner and it was NOT from a turkey but seemed more like sandwich turkey slices. Potatoes didn’t taste real but maybe boxed. I don’t recommend that dinner. Maybe they have better options but that’s what 3 out of the 5 of us had so….

My husband and I spent the weekend in Pembine and decided to stop in and try the food. We walked in and were greeted, seated, and we ordered our drinks. The gentleman that seated us brought our drinks and went back to the kitchen. We sat there talking for 10 minutes and no one had come to take our order. He came back to check on us and we told him our waitress hadn’t taken our order. He apologized and explained that he was training two high schoolers and wasn’t paying attention. He took our order and went back over to the grill.
My husband ordered an Philly Cheesesteak which was a big bun, but not a lot of meat. He said that it tasted good, but he was disappointed because it was mostly bread. There should have been more meat to be worth what we paid for just the sandwich. I had the hot beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy. There was a generous helping of beef on my sandwich. The gravy was dark brown, not too salty, and not too thick or too runny. My meal was the perfect warm, comfort food I was craving.
I won’t give Winter’s Family Restaurant a bad rating because he was training new staff members and running the restaurant. There is still a worker shortage and it affects businesses large and small. The restaurant had that small town feel, it was clean, and the gentleman running the restaurant was friendly and honest.
