I’m going to echo many other reviews of this location. The food is great, no doubt about it. If you want fried chicken in some form, there’s not a ton of options in Ames, so this is often what you get.

GREAT food, can’t stress that enough. However I’ve been back a few times and you pretty much always have to add a half hour to whatever time the app/website predicts it’s going to be ready. If it says 15 to 20 min plan on more like 45 to 60 min. And even then when I’ve given them a WIDE birth of time I still arrive in the lobby, give them my name and it’s like they realized they missed a ticket or something because I’ll still end up waiting 15 min (with alllll the other people waiting). Good food though

Placed an order online for carry out. Estimated time 18-23 minutes, not a big deal. Get there a few mins early. I stated I had a carry out order. They had received my order, but it had not been made yet. Not necessarily a huge deal but other orders kept going out that were placed after mine. I did have a large order and accepted that it may take longer. Almost 40mins past the estimated time I finally got my food. I should have just canceled my order.

Came in here to try the voodoo fry’s, they were nice ! Wings were cold though. However time management was horrible. Took about an hour for our food to come out and most of the staff in the kitchen were yelling/cussing out to each other and meeting up with friends. We asked at the beginning how long it would take because this hasn’t happened once, but TWICE. They said 15 minutes… not true. Other customers started to complain for how long it took, compared to other fast food places you can get better service.

Stop August 8 and 2pm. I stood at the counter for 5 minutes watching 3 employees talk and sort of working. There was one person waiting for food and one person eating. Finally a girl came up with cups and I thought i was getting served. The girl looked to be logging in to the screen. She then stood in front of me and here ordering screen scrolling through her phone never looking up. I left. Poor service.

The service and crew was not good, I waited over an hr for my door dash pickup and the crew was very unprofessional, listening to loud music , singing , messing around with each other , would not make the food orders , there was also a gentleman ahead of me who was unhappy to wait over an hr as well and when he mentioned it they just laughed about it and didn’t offer anything for him. I had to drop my order eventually. And another gentleman as well dropped.his order. Crew very Unprofessional.

Only come here if you want to wait a long time and only get half of what you ordered. Walked in and ordered with a man who was rude and clearly annoyed because he had just delt with an angry customer who had been waiting an hour and kept getting the wrong order and was now getting a refund (while there for the 30 minutes we were there we saw each customer have some kind of problem). After ordering with him he went to the back and just stood there talking with 2 other employees. We watched many employees do very little work and one young man go out to each customer and ask what they ordered, then do the whole order himself. He apologized to us, gave us an extra brownie because they were out of fries, but then handed us a bag that was missing half our order. We only ordered two things…and he had taken the receipt with him to fufull that order..it was a complete joke. To top it all off we got ranch that was old and soggy fries. Hopefully we don’t get food poisoning.
