First of all, the place is small and they do a lot of carryout business. They have three tables for four people and I was the only one in the restaurant eating at the time. The store was very busy with carryout orders the entire time we were in there.
I ordered the 20 Wing special to share. The special includes four different sauces, A large fry and two drinks. I also ordered a large order of the corn.
First off the fries were really really good. The seasoning they put on them has kind of a sweet hint to it! That was a nice surprise. I also really enjoyed the corn. This is their take on roasted corn on the cob. They season it with their fry seasoning and their Cajun rub and I could almost make a meal out of the corn by itself.
For the four-wing sauces we got the hot honey rub, garlic, parmesan, hickory BBQ, and the sweet barbecue blaze which is a limited time flavor. I thought all of the wings were excellent. The wings were large and sauces full of flavor. My favorite was the hot honey rub and the sweet barbecue blaze. The garlic parmesan is a rub and is listed as no heat. I thought the balance of the garlic with the parmesan was excellent.
All in all, the appetizers in the wings are what makes this review. I wasn’t expecting a lot of atmosphere as I was anticipating not having much room eat. I was pleasantly surprised that they had enough room for three tables which at least gives you the option if you wanted to dine in.
The Lady and two Gentlemen were very friendly and the wings were out quickly. Hot, juicy, saucy. Thank y’all so much, I needed this.
Yesterday I thought sandwiches and wings would be a nice treat while watching the game. I’ve never been to Wing-Stop before but thought it would be similar to Buffalo Wild Wing’s. Sorry to say, not even close, swing and a miss.
My order of 16 wings was 8 Korean BBQ, and 8 Mild (advertised as “That O.G. hot, turned down a notch”) and 2 chicken sandwiches of the same flavor, all costing $34.00.
The Korean wings had the most flavor and tasted like the Korean BBQ sauce I’ve purchased from Costco.
The Mild wings had absolutely no flavor, zero. And both orders of wings didn’t seem very meaty or fresh.
And the mild, (again O.G. hot, turned down a notch) chicken sandwiches were just as bland, 2 buns with a piece of chicken, a few small slices of pickle and nothing else. When ordering those I asked if there were additional condiments for the sandwiches, like tomato, lettuce, cheese, and was told no, “That’s how they come”.
I was expecting something like the spicy Chick-fil-A without toppings. But flavor was missing completely, the $1.50 McChicken is better tasting.
It took 25 minutes to prepare the order and the food was flavorless. As I’ve said; it was my first experience there and because there were children sharing the food I didn’t want to order something that was going to be nuclear hot, but there still should have been something tasty or just okay with this order.
The food you see, was thrown out, no one wanted anymore of it.
I tried, lesson learned. I’ll stick to B dub’s for wings.
