Social Profile:

It started many years ago but truly became the epitome of wing perfection in 2008 when the Hartleys’ and Jones’ joined forces to get the secret spot for the best wings in Charlotte out to the public and not just the locals. We added 2 more locations in 2009 with Lancaster, SC and 2010 in Fort Mill, SC. We search out unique, local-lovin’ locations that allow us to offer fantastic food, friendly service at a reasonable price. We have truly loyal regulars that spread the word of our great atmosphere and honestly the best wings around! We do fresh, made to order food just the way you like. However, we are not a “fast food” restaurant!

We’ve been regulars at this location for the past four years, so it’s disappointing to say that the lack of consistency is starting to greatly affect our experience. Unfortunately, this visit really missed the mark. The wings were severely overcooked—so dry they were difficult to chew and completely inedible. The house salads were equally disappointing, missing most of the ingredients and made up largely of old, pink and brown lettuce. The kids’ three-piece chicken tenders were shockingly small—about the same size and thickness as the fries—and, like the rest of the food, extremely overcooked and dry.

That said, I want to give full credit where it’s due: the management was incredibly accommodating and genuinely apologetic when I called, which is the sole reason for the five stars in service. I truly hope they’re able to get a kitchen team that takes more care in the food being sent out, because this place used to be a go-to for us. I’m not ready to give up on it yet.

We love Wing King, usually it’s 5 stars. But one thing that’s unfortunate is their inconsistency. 20% of the time the food is subpar. Last night was a great example. Most of the time their boneless wings are large and plump, each wing being multiple bites. Last night they were the size of Chick-fil-A nuggets. They were also hard and chewy, likely due to being overcooked. They are pricey wings so the inconsistency makes us hesitant to keep ordering from here.

My wife and I have been enjoying Wing King of Fort Mill for years now. It’s a perfect location to eat in, or to call ahead after a tough day at work and order your meal for pickup on the way by. Service has always been top-notch, even in the rare instances that we’ve had an issue. It might be a little on the pricey side, but you really do get what you pay for. Nice meaty wings, decent portions that will leave you with leftovers, and a desire to return in the future. Their blue cheese sauce, if you care for such, is second to none, and I’ve eaten at quite a few places and their blue cheese dipping sauces never hold a candle to Wing King’s secret recipe. One Friday evening when we ate in, there was even a live game of name that song that was an enjoyable treat for my wife and myself. Will return, again and again.

When I’m down in Fort Mill, I don’t often go out but I’m glad I found this place. We were craving wings and this place did not disappoint. They had so many wing flavors that there is literally a flavor for everyone. They also had something I’ve never seen at a wing spot before; grilled wings. Normally I’m used to fried wings but these are a healthier option if you wanted to go down that route. We ordered the Korean BBQ, Garlic lemon pepper Parm, honey hot and honey gold. All great flavors but I think the Korean BBQ was the winner. The seasonal steak poutine fries were also a 10/10.

The service was definitely the best part. Stacey was our server/bartender and the minute we met her, we knew it was gonna be a good time. She was so friendly and down to earth. She gave great recommendations. She also made some amazing Margaritas. I will definitely come back from the service alone. Stacey was great!!!

A nice touch that I liked was that I was able to see in the kitchen while they were cooking. I always love that aspect in certain restaurants.

My husband ate here while he was on training, he told me it was some of the best chicken he’s ever had, we live 1 1/2 hours away but I had to try it since I was in the area.

He was not lying, I’m picky about chicken and this was the best chicken I’ve ever had from a restaurant, and the hot honey barbecue sauce is delicious. Very quick and friendly service, and pretty big portions too!

We had Alex C as our server, and he was great! Super nice and well mannered and checked on us often. We will definitely make the trip to come back some time!! And will happily recommend this place to anyone looking for quality food and service.

Hands down the worst wings I’ve ever had. Not only did we spend over $90 on wings, which is much higher than what their website prices are, but the wings were burnt and flavorless.
It’s extremely frustrating to try and support local businesses and have such a poor experience. We should have known it wasn’t going to be good food when the sign out front states that they will not give refunds for any reason.

Super friendly staff, good menu, well organized atmosphere, and prices that compete with all the big guys. It was a relaxing darker environment, yet some how very vibrant at the same time. We placed an order and did not know what to try, we paid and waited. The man said “10-15 minutes you will receive a text for your pickup.” We thought as busy as this place was that was actually a pretty quick time. 4 minutes passed by and “Boom!” A text came through and it was ready for pickup. We sat down for lunch up the road, opened our boxes, the smells were phenomenal, the chicken was juicy, the flavors had pizazz, the homemade blue cheese dip was creamy and tangy, the chips (which u can order floppy or crispy) were delicious and seasoned well, and the COOKIES’N MILK CAKE WAS THE TOPPER!!! If your in town or a stone throw away, hop on in and give this place a try. Your wont “Regert” it!!!

Katelyn was amazing! Went above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. Before my glass was on the table she was refilling it! And the food was great too! Hats off to the chef. Can’t get crinkle fries and wings this good just anywhere! Great lunch and good prices.

Went here with some family we ordered the 5 flavors with 5 wings each. Food came out super fast which is always nice. The flavors were ok but out of the variety we choose they all seemed to be very similar. They had a special of fried pickle spears and that was the best thing I had highly recommend those of you are here.

I’m a vendor for this property, and I must say that the friendliness and the atmosphere of this place is amazing. The way they welcome you when you walk through the door is like they’ve known you for years. I highly recommend this place.
