It started many years ago but truly became the epitome of wing perfection in 2008 when the Hartleys’ and Jones’ joined forces to get the secret spot for the best wings in Charlotte out to the public and not just the locals. We added 2 more locations in 2009 with Lancaster, SC and 2010 in Fort Mill, SC. We search out unique, local-lovin’ locations that allow us to offer fantastic food, friendly service at a reasonable price. We have truly loyal regulars that spread the word of our great atmosphere and honestly the best wings around! We do fresh, made to order food just the way you like. However, we are not a “fast food” restaurant!
Hot wings served with many different flavors of sauces along with burgers, sandwiches & tavern food.

Yall still got it with the wings. Did 5 garlic parm 5 honey hot extra crispy. They were perfect. My only complaint would be the young lady taking the order. Her vibe n attitude was very dry. Almost like she was annoyed to take your order lol food was delightful tho

We’ve been going to King Wing now for 8 months, not once have we had a bad experience or bad wings. We consider King Wings as the best wings Charlotte has to offer, they are meaty, crunchy and tasty…we order the 24K sauce, not too hot but very flavorful. As a matter of fact, we discovered they sell their 24k sauce in jars, so we’ve been buying jars every time we go and put the sauce on just about everything we barbecue on our grill. Highly recommend! Believe the negative reviews! I ordered a few of the XXX wings to try them out. They were lukewarm and there was basically no spice at all. I got them grilled and they were overly charred. How are they burnt and cold??!! I don’t understand that at all. There’s a sign that says to-go wings are to go and if you’re ordering to-go then sit on a bench and wait for your food and leave basically. Very unnecessary and rude. If I wanted to have a drink and bite a few wings from my to-go box I’d probably be kicked out I’m assuming. It was my 1st and last time. Don’t eat here.

Plenty of parking in front of the place and easy to find a spot on a weekday.
The appetizers were in our table so fast. We probably wait 10 mins max.
We ordered the wing plater to try different flavors, the only downside is they didn’t mark or put a tag next to the wings to see what flavor we were eating. Even tho we chose the flavors, it was our first time and we were guessing which flavor we were eating every time we grabbed a wing. Luckily all flavors were good.
Noise level: it gets noisy at moments but you can still have a conversation. I’m sure it gets louder on a weekend when it’s even more busy.

The wings are not King here! Their grilled wings are charred beyond recognition. You can’t taste the flavor on the grilled wings because all you taste is charred meat. The fried wings are pre-fried ready to go before you order them and set under a hot lamp at best guess because they come out within 2 minutes of ordering and they are also overcooked as they can be. To top all of that off I ordered ghost wings and I got plain wings to start with. When I asked to have my ghost wings I was sent wings with ghost sauce drizzled across them because the sauce is “so hot”! First of all the ghost sauce wasn’t that hot and second of all if I didn’t want a hot wing I wouldn’t have ordered one. I’ll never be back here and I would not recommend anyone else do that as well. Also for 25 wings after tax and tip it was $50 which is way overpriced, but would have been okay had they been good. But they were basically trash! Avoid this place.

This is not our first time here. Just about every time we visit family in the Charlotte area, we come here to eat. This is day 2 in a row for us this week.

My experience here was not the best a bit of a cold established. The waiter that served us was kind of rude, sarcastic, and felt the need to rush us. Looking around I noticed how he served others. This was even for customers that even got there after we did. He seemed nicer and served them quicker. Not sure the reason. This was a very unfortunate visit because it was my mom’s birthday and wanted to have a great experience and loved Wing King. The one in Rock Hill is always nice and friendly environment. Did not get that here. Highly disappointed! The bathrooms wasn’t all that clean, I was made aware that the floors were slippery. They kept customers on one side of the restaurant. So around 12 noon the place was a little crowded on Saturday when I went, despite the rain. This location is decent as far as physical location. I did like that they have plenty of TVS to view. Simply put it, the food was ok, service horrible, would not recommend.

Very inconsistent place. Overpriced wings and dressing. Will say though the sides are huge portions. We got 20 wings 4 flavors, none of them were that amazing. Couldn’t tell you the flavors really because they were so forgettable and similar to each other (do know some type of garlic Parm and honey bbq for at least two of them). We should’ve only ordered one side of celery and carrots because one set was enough for the both of us. Basket of cheese curds was a huge portion worth the $8. I do not like they overcharge for each ranch and Bleu cheese especially because it wasn’t even that good. Server was nice but felt like they were rushing us. Place was pretty clean. Luckily this time the wings were at least a decent size, the flavor just wasn’t it for me. I think the worst part is the price for them. I might go back and try some different flavors if I’m nearby but I won’t be going out of my way.
