If I could give this place negative stars I would. Was on an overnight trip with my sisters and stopped in for drinks, only to be denied service by an extremely condescending and rude bartender. This was after we waited for over 20 min to get our food order taken while she was outside smoking. ( Blonde, heavyset, mid thirties. )
When asked why she wouldn’t serve us she merely said “because”. We were in no way inebriated and there were plenty of sloppy locals being served.
Having been a bartender for many years, I am well aware of the laws regarding over serving; this seemed personal and discriminatory.
Out of towners beware, take your money elsewhere!

This building has such a strange and uncomfortable layout. Definitely not wheelchair accessible. There are stairs every couple of yards or so which I will always hate, no matter what.
But otherwise the place has really grow on me. I love the staff and enjoy the food. It’ll never be a give star fine dining experience but I really enjoy going there. The staff is so so so friendly – they’re really the best.

Horrible. The bartender out of touch. Minute I walked in… no where to be found. Called me intoxicated and would not serve me. Happy it’s my last day in The Dalles. 3 months never went anywhere and got kicked out because I was happy. Avoid this place visitors! Not only the help the way in! Not close to code and will be reported. Not a good place to visit.

The bartenders are amazing and make great drinks. As a woman unfortunately it is a rare occasion to walk In to a bar and have a woman bartender make you a good drink and treat you nicely. So thanks to the staff at the Windy it’s my spot.

Late night decision to try my luck. Windy River was the only location in town still open other than Shari’s. Good music, not to large or cowded for Saturday night and Hloween in Monday did inspire a few costumes. Oh and my choice of machine was paying so I walked out with 100 times what I started with. Good place over all will go back

Usually real good service & nice staff- but unfortunately the staff don’t want to work more than 6 hours a shift .. even if customers are spending $$.. Some friends and myself were all gambling, we had just got there at about 10:30p, to only get told WE’RE CLOSING!!!!!! We would have been happy to tip to keep her from kicking us out but she wasn’t having it!!

If you’re not a favored local, don’t bother. Driving through on our way to Portland, we stopped in this dump of a bar for a burger and a beer. Sat at the table for 15 minutes while making eye contact with all 3 of the bar staff who were too busy talking to each other and the local “good ol boys” at the bar to be bothered to come over and get our order. Finally one of them started walking out from behind the bar….to go outside and smoke. From the looks of the place and the pathetic menu, I doubt the food would be anything more than the cheapest ingredients. Walked out and never going back.

It’s dark and cramped. Looks and feels like a strip club that’s been turned into a bar. The only reason that it gets 3 stars is because there is ONE fantastic bartender. Drinks were fast and good from the one bartender. The other girl working bar looked like she was annoyed to be there.

Gossip and a very low standard of patrons from the employees. Dont feed the bears…these ladies expect it and are unique when it comes to boredom from there low luster jobs. Other than the rub the place is clean and the food is better than ordinary 3 star of 10. Games wont pay to play so bring your shallow hal to fit in.

I went there well at my friends house. I walked in with a limp cause I have health issues. I got caught off after 3 drinks because of my issues. The bartenders boy friend her name was heather tried to start a fight outside the bar and continued to get serviced.
