Decent hot dog joint with other Chicago staples. Had Chicago style hot dog and polish dog. Vienna brand so you know the base elements are all going to be good. Only thing of note was the toppings were ice cold, which I didn’t really care for, I get that obviously things need to be refrigerated but most hot dog carts I have been to this wasn’t issue. Also,take-out only, you can’t eat inside, they have outside tables.

On the hunt today for a good Chicago dog or possible Italian beef and came across Windy City Dogs. I’m kicking myself for somehow letting this one slip under the radar for so long.. That changes after today. After talking with the owner they’ve been here for 12 years. I will say I don’t frequent El Mirage much besides a few taco spots. So this was a good change of pace. The spot was easy to find and located right in the same parking lot as the neighboring skate park.parking was easy. We were not only greeted right away, but we had a great chat while our food was fixed. The location is small. There are a few seats at a high top and one table, but for the most part all seating is outside or take home and eat. We wanted to try not only the Chicago dogs, but the Italian beef as well which we got with the hot peppers. They offer many side options like fried. Onion rings and more, but we stuck with the three main items and some bottled waters. Drinks are all bottled. Gatorade, monsters you name it. That’s awesome of you’re at the park on a hot day and need a drink or two. Our food was ready quick, prices fair and I was excited to dig in. The Italian beef looked, smelled and most importantly was delicious! Bread was made well and wasn’t instantly soggy. I loved it came with Aus Ju to dip it in. Hands down my favorite. The hot dog was great as well. Peppers good, pickle crispy and tomato’s good. We will definitely be back. Great service, food and we left full and happy.

Took our dog to the park and saw the restaurant by the parking lot of the park. Decided to try it and support local business.
We had the spicy Italian beef sandwich and it was great! Super impressed at flavor and amount of food for the price. We will definitely be back again. They also serve shaved Hawaiian Ice!

Lived at Pueblo El mirage for 20 years. Used to take my great granddaughter to the park there but never stopped because I told myself another claim to Chicago style food. Well today 10 years later I decided to stop because I have been looking for Italian beef sandwich (hard to find) well let ne tell you I was super impressed when I got home. Definitely double dipped had to eat with fork and knife. Tasty, and juicy. I will definitely be back and it’s 2 minutes away from home.

This place is so cute! It’s like a little piece of Chicago in Arizona. The service was excellent and the gentleman working was so nice to talk to. The food was exceptional! I felt like I was downtown Chicago eating a Chicago dog and pizza puff. We ordered Chicago dogs, pizza puffs, cheese fries and the chili cheese fries. We will definitely be back!

Great little snack store Windy City Hotdogs. Awesome shaved ice, not so much shaved as it is a snow cone but tastes really good. Few different choices of flavors. We’ve had the Nacho Supreme, Chili cheese fries, hotdogs & just about every flavor of shaved ice. All pretty dang good. Inside a great big park with a huge playground, baseball field, skate park & a waking trail that goes around the whole park. Ramadas & charcoal grills.

We ordered two medium shaved ice, they were huge. One was a Blue Hawaiian and a blue cotton candy with cherry flavor. I also ordered a hot pickle lol. Wonderful service I believe last call for hot food is 6:45pm. Good place to cool off during the day from the skatepark or basketball court next door!

If you like hidden charges that are tacked on to your receipt, this is the place for you. “Convenience Fee” – $1.50 – For what? I didn’t see any signs or anything stating this. I looked at the menu and saw the price of the hot dog, but not mention of these extra fees.

I cannot comment on the food as we did not actually order anything here. We stopped in after leaving the nearby splash pad because we saw a sign in the window that said Hawaiian Shaved Ice. As a Native Hawaiian that grew up in Hawaii, and now lives in Arizona the thought of shave ice on 100°+ afternoon was what we had in mind. As we approached Windy City we were unsure if it was open since we did not see anyone outside nor any vehicles parked out front. I jumped out to check if they were open before having my wife and grandson get out of the car.
I asked the gentleman sitting at the counter on his laptop if they were open. I was acknowledged with a sarcastic, “the lights are on and the sign says open.” That should have been my first clue to just turnaround and go somewhere else. However, I thought we’d give it a shot, and felt kind of bad that he had no business with an empty store.
So I went to get my wife and grandson, and we all came back in for some shave ice and maybe a hotdog. My wife was trying to decide what flavor she wanted, and asked if there were any Hawaiian flavors like guava, etc. He responded, that it wasn’t Hawaiian Shave Ice, and my wife responded that he should take down the sign then if it wasn’t Hawaiian.
He said, “I’ve been here 13 years and not taking down anything.”
We ended up leaving without ordering anything, and went the extra 20 minute drive to Happy Honu Shave Ice, who actually is from Hawaii.
I cannot speak for my wife, but I always try to give people the benefit of the down, and am all for supporting local businesses. I could careless if there were no Hawaiian flavors, but a little Hawaiian hospitality could go a long way. We call it Aloha!

I read a lot of the reviews and we decided to go give it a shot. The location itself is small and quaint, but very well set up.
I can see based off of where the location is at why it may take a while to get served. Its located at a big park with fields and skate park, so I can see why it gets busy. However we went around 1pm today and it was dead. We ordered and the food was out quick.
My reasoning for the 3 stars is simple. The cost of the food is just for the item you order. I was hoping to have a bag of chips or fries to go with it, but they seem to be sold seperate. I asked about combo deal and the lady said it’s all sold separately. 1 Italian Beef sandwich, Gatorade, and small shaved ice cost just shy of $14. Little steep for a meal with only a sandwich.
My partner ordered a Chicago style hotdog, Gatorade, and Chicago tamale and it cost him just over $11. The dog was good but the tamale was microwaved and all mushy.
