A Flavorful Feast with Room for Sweet Improvements
My recent dinner at Windrush was a delightful experience, largely due to the exceptionally well-prepared food. From start to finish, the dishes were a testament to masterful seasoning, arriving plentiful and absolutely bursting with flavor. Every bite was a genuine pleasure, showcasing a clear understanding of how to make ingredients sing.
The only minor stumble came with dessert. The beignets, while undeniably hot and fresh, would have benefited from a more generous dusting of powdered sugar to truly elevate their sweetness. A small personal preference, but I also would have loved for them to be served concurrently with my ice cream, as I had envisioned combining the two for a delectable hot-and-cold treat. Perhaps next time, I’ll request this timing specifically.
Service throughout the evening was impeccable. Our waitress was a standout, proving to be both attentive and remarkably rapid in anticipating and fulfilling our needs. Her efficiency and pleasant demeanor truly enhanced the overall dining experience.
Despite the slight dessert quibble, the outstanding main courses and excellent service make Windrush Village Marketplace a highly recommended spot for anyone seeking a truly flavorful and satisfying meal. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

My son loves it, so I had to visit. I was not disappointed. We sat outside. Staff is very friendly. Food was delish.

Brunch at Windrush is a real treat. You have to try their chicken and waffles! The mimosas are good as well. The bar has been expanded with multiple TVs showing sports or Chive TV. The atmosphere is great for a nice meal out.

The disclaimer is that I didn’t dine in. I stopped by to get a piece of bread pudding. It was a smaller piece than the servings I saw being served to the dine-in people. It was average tasting at best. It’s definitely not worth the money. The service was just okay.
I will try again and dine in next time.

Our first time here was great. They don’t take reservations, but it wasn’t too busy when we went on a Sunday evening and we were able to be sat right away. There are TV’s, a nice bar, and various seating options. The ambiance was great. Our food was delicious and we like that there are vegetarian options on the menu. We wanted to try the dessert but failed to save room so we’ll be back!

Our waitress, Anna, was absolutely amazing and we can’t wait to go back! The crawfish etouffee was delicious and very hot like it should be. The cocktails were on point and my wife loved her martinis! Did the Beinville oysters were char broiled to perfection. We really enjoyed the bread pudding.
The acoustic guitar was awesome and magnificent! Definitely worth the tip that he earned.

This is certainly a lovely little micro-village. El Cabo Verde is an amazing restaurant and I think I would eat there every single day if I could. There is also a Frank’s there which I’m not a huge fan of but I know is super popular with most people. The houses are beautiful and there is a nice man-made lake. They do farmers markets and concert series and more and more businesses are moving in. It’s a pricey place to live but I think you do get a lot of bang for your buck plus you are outside of the high crime in Shreveport.
