Found this through some reviews I saw from another site online. It is kind of a dive bar, but the food and service was excellent. We came in during a slower hour in the afternoon.
The waitress was nice and very accommodating. I got a lemonade, the hot beef, and mashed potatos. Everything was scrumptious and done to perfection. I really like the roast beef and the gravy in particular.
My partner had a chicken sandwich (the nebraska w/chicken instead of beef) and vegan cheese. You would think for being a hole in the wall bar they would not offer as much allergy friendly solutions, but they were more than accommodating and willing to make custom orders to suit her needs.
Even the kids chicken strips were juicy and cooked to perfection. You know how most places use low quality food and don’t cook the kids meals very well. NOT this place.
Food was priced affordably and I really can’t say anything bad about this place.

Went on mid week dinner time. Wasn’t very busy. Ordered a bacon cheeseburger and tots. Service was good. Meal was prepared great. Enjoyed the environment and meal. Would recommend and planning on returning.

Wow how have I missed out on this place for so long. It’s probably 30 years since I’ve been here and back then I was just there for a drink. I’ve read on this format and on social media about the comfort food available here and I feel the rave reviews are accurate. We had the daily specials, creamy chicken over biscuits and salsbury steak and both were damn near perfect. I almost always have to season my food and I only barely salted the green beans. Nothing was needed on any other of the items. I’m picky about my ice tea and mine was just to my liking, not too strong not too weak. The staff were friendly and appropriately attentive to our needs. This will be a go to for us whenever we want comfort food.

My buddy and I stopped here as part of the tenderloin trail. We were not disappointed the tenderloin was more than enough to fill you up. Came with a fantastic house made remoulade. That really enhanced the experience. The tenderloin itself had a great seasoning too it some type of herb definitely in the mix. It was juicy and fried to perfection. I had the curly fries on the side which were fantastic. My pal had the tots which he said were good as well. The service was friendly and came around to ask if we needed things and to refill drinks often. Definitely will be back to try other things on the menu as well everything out of the kitchen looked great.

What can I say about the Winchester Bar & Grill?
How ’bout it’s perfect. In every way possible. The food…amazing. The servers…Ty and Cam are the best. They might live there. In fact, Ty was nice enough to get one of my favorite N/As in there.
But Karaoke, words cannot describe how great KJ Shadow is. I have been performing for the greater Omaha and Council Bluffs area for 25 years now and I think he is the greatest one I’ve encountered. And that’s saying something. Johnny Pickles doesn’t just take orders from anyone. He’ll even suggest a song for you if you’re so inclined.
If you haven’t been to the Winchester check it out. But be careful…you might want to live there as well.

Just no. This place used to have great good, but no more. Sauces & gravy are either paste or salty beyond eating. You can sit at the bar & get forgotten by the bartender. Completely living off of a reputation from 15 years ago.

The food is pretty solid! It’s better than average bar food, I’d definitely eat here again.
What was disappointing is how expensive it is. I had a burger, onion rings, and a mountain dew and it was $23 before tip. That’s pretty pricy.
