My first time here and it won’t be the last. Food exceptional I ordered the shrimp n grits… yummy . Desert the banana pudding it was very good as well. Ordered a few drinks Russian Quaalude….. This place is phenomenal! Best food since I can’t even remember. The grilled cheese was so good I almost cried. The service was amazing and good chill quiet vibe. Good music playing but not so loud that you can’t hear the person that your with. Best Place Ever!!! Don’t forget to try the Homemade Banana Pudding. You won’t regret it.

Overall it was okay. The waitress was lovely and food came quickly to the table. The food leaves much to be desired. Beer cheese came ice cold which I know is personal preference but I choose it to be hot. Cold is gross, and served with veg and packets of crackers that you can’t scoop the cheese with, it’s too stiff when cold. It should be served warm with breads and veg. The shrimp plate I hear was decent but each piece of shrimp had to be placed into a napkin and squeezed of the oil. I had the pulled pork that was decent l, it was juicy, the sauce wasn’t the best. Mac and cheese was horribly gritty in texture, the slaw was good and creamy. Lastly, the smell in this place was a mess. It had a strong sewer smell. Friends say that happens in some places after the rain but I don’t believe that’s a good enough, that smell was offensive. Overall it was okay, probably won’t be back.

Having been told by several people that I needed to try Winchell’s, I must say it loved up to the hype. The shrimp and grits were some of the best I have ever had. The staff was friendly and on point. The atmosphere was fantastic. Definitely a must try for anyone.

Winchell’s is a local favorite…you go for the food and friendly servers who treat you like family. The hot brown is the best of the best. If you’re lucky enough to go on a day when lasagna is the special, get it!

I love Winchell’s! I’ve been there several times and have never had a bad experience here. The staff is always super friendly and the food always comes out quick. A couple of friends and I went for brunch there last Saturday during a rush and they had our food out in 5-10 minutes. The portions are huge as well. I always have some to take home for a second meal.

4 stars is my opinion, I went here because the Google said this restaurant had chicken fried steak, not true, they have chicken fried pork cut. Which was ok, needed garlic salt and pepper before they fried it. But ok alternative, to chicken fried steak but not the same. The gravy didn’t seem homemade but was very good. Jalapeños cheese grits were very tasty.
