Visited this hot spot lasnite and enjoyed my take out. I ordered a mini turkey tip w/turkey link and fries. A side of macaroni n’ cheese/ side of baked beans/ cornbread/ and a plain slice of cheesecake. Loved the atmosphere here open and spacious to say the least. It was pretty dope to see the robotic feature serving food. I really liked my tips and the sauce was on point. Mac n’cheese was super fulfilling and my beans were very flavorful my cornbread was nice and fluffy. My cheesecake was decent I wish I’ve would have gotten a larger piece for the price. Overall, great place to dine… I’ll mos def be back and I do recommend this place!!

Went for a bday dinner. Escalator was broke going up. Food was not fresh, soul rolls were old, waiter was blah, drinks weren’t strong. The atmosphere was nice especially with the DJ it’s huge inside that was probably the best part. My rib tips were ok lots of fatty pieces, fries weren’t fresh. I give this place a 5/10. Not worth $120 for 2 people.

I know they better quit playing with this delicious food! Mannnn I’m telling you to check them out! Tips are meaty and actually grilled over charcoal. The turkey tips could use more sauce….but the way they show respect for them fries they lay underneath the meat….my gawwwd! If I was brave, I would have to smack my Momma over these greens! The spicy link was what I needed in my life! Only thing I did not want to try was the turkey link and hubby didn’t like it! That doesn’t even matter though, we BOTH give it 5 stars!

My sis and I came here last year for a special day got the ribs, chicken wings ,tips, links, soul rolls, greens and baked beans and the food was delicious which is why we decide to go back again for a special remembrance day and to make it yearly. However this time wasn’t up to our expectations and a complete dive from what we had last time. This time we tried the jerk chicken dinner that I saw they added to their menu and that was delicious and decided to take our barbecue to go we felt there was no need to check our food before we left the bag was staple close, plus because it was so perfect last time felt no need to check. Boy was we wrong my ribs were burnt to a crisp, the tips were super tough couldn’t eat none of it. We spent over $160 dollars and to have food that I couldnt eat was very disappointing. I tip the waitress 27 dollars gave her 20 cash and 7 dollars thru payment you can see on the faded receipt so money was spent all together it’s not her fault the take out food was a waste…I have people that I keep recommending when they come in town to try them, but now I don’t know.
Update: Oct 16 2025 we went back and they made up for our take out food and this was like how I remembered nice and tender and tasted delicious. I am happy and satisfied we had a friend of our came and she order her food to go and she call said it was delicious. Me my sister was happy and I was doing my food dance
Ps see the last three pics

We stopped in after seeing a few recommendations for this place online. Our server James was awesome, and really made the entire visit enjoyable. He tended to us very well and made sure we were happy throughout. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with an extra side of Mac n cheese, and my wife ordered the rib tips with Mac n cheese. Both were absolutely delicious, I liked that the bbq sauce wasn’t too sweet. Overall if I’m back in Chicago, I’m making it a point to come back and try more off the menu.

Updated*** 2nd time was TERRIBLE!!!! The service was okay but we waited 25 minutes to order drinks and I had to ask one of the MULTIPLE people walking past for a menu. The food came out cold and the bartender wanted to argue about it AFTER it took 40 minutes to come out. The manager refused to come over which is fine because I didn’t want anything else and won’t return and no one else I know or can reach out to will either!
We had a great experience at Wilma’s BBQ! Although our food took about an hour to arrive, we completely understand since we had a large group that they graciously accommodated at the last minute. Q, our waiter, was absolutely amazing. He was attentive, helpful, and made sure we were taken care of the entire time. The rest of the staff was also very kind and welcoming. Once the food came out, it was well worth the wait, everything was delicious! The drinks were also great and really hit the spot. We’ll definitely be back!

Escalator broken, so customers must walk upstairs. On a weekend noon, almost completely empty. I ordered pickup on Uber Eats and arrived a few minutes after the suggested ready time. A man with ‘security’ printed on the back of his jacket told me the order was not ready in an extremely rude tone. I asked how long it would take and showed him the screenshot that Uber suggested it’s been ready for a while. He got upset for no reason and said ‘do you want your order or not? Cancel it if you want’. When the order was ready a few minutes later, this man just waved to me without saying a word, pointing to my order. Fine, I’ll take it and be on my way then. When I picked up my order, he again very rudely said ‘what are you doing man, you got to confirm your order on Uber Eats first. Otherwise you can’t take it.’ Never heard of that before. Keep in mind I’ve already showed him my Uber Eats confirmation. While delays to orders can happen, this level of rudeness in the service industry is still shocking to me. Food portions are ridiculously small for the price. $10 Mac and cheese in a very small plastic container and $8 for 2 tiny pieces of cornbread. Ribs are expensive and decent.

Solid 4 stars. I enjoyed my meal and at the core of what they do everything was tasty. It was some of the finer points that fell a little short for me. To put that much effort into the meat and then serve frozen fries seems like a miss. It is also a personal pet peeve when you get such a tiny serving of slaw. I mean come on, of everything on this plate that is where you are going to cheap out. I will also say my food was not super hot when it arrived. I also would have liked if not “real” cutlery, higher quality disposable, using s flimsy plastic fork on a half chicken was not great. All minor points. I will for sure go back next time I am in Chicago. Our server will awesome (Jasi according to the receipt) and helped guide some of the guest at the table who were not familiar with American BBQ through the menu. Place is super casual so set your expectations when it comes to ambiance and service.
