First time visiting this BBQ place after a show. We stopped around 825 pm and the place closed at 9 pm. The staff at the front counter was really friendly and helpful but it was obvious the kitchen staff were not happy we decided to stop in 30 minutes before closing time. They stated to the girl taking our order “ if anybody else comes in don’t take the order we are closed”. Wasn’t a very welcoming feeling and was hoping nothing bad was going in our food. The place was very clean and inviting. The food was ok. The pulled pork sandwich was good, bread could have been a little softer, the macaroni and cheese was not very hot, the fried pickles tasted “different” corn was just ok. Not a great first time experience that’s for sure. We were leaving at 8:55 and a couple came in and were told the place was closed. Maybe change the store hours to “ closed when we want”. Probably won’t go back.

Stopped in cause looked for something new with bbq. Place was clean but not a fan of order system but ok no problem. Got fried green tomatoes. I order anytime on a menu these over ripe and mushyyhe breading a plain corn meal. Ribs where good on thing I liked. Brisket was fatty and greens not cooked they still crunchy. I’m sorry but I don’t think we will return Sonny’s is much better

1st time there and was a very nice experience! Yes it’s very casual dining and is run by youngsters for the most part but they work hard and are very accommodating. Keep up the great work everyone!

It was our first time and we had a great experience. Food was good, service was top notch (Cashier Clara explained everything in detail and had patience with us),and she made the atmosphere as a first timer very welcoming. Definitely recommend 4.9. Only fault was that the fries didn’t come out fresh but they fixed the mistake and were very delicious. Not to mention they gave us an extra set of fries. Thank you

I don’t write reviews often, but Willie Jewels at Magnolia Plaza deserves praise. I came for the brisket, and it was excellent — tender, flavorful, and honestly doesn’t even need sauce. That said, the sauce bar is a must-try and adds a fun bonus to the meal.
The portion sizes are generous, bigger than many nearby competitors, and you should expect leftovers (they even have takeout containers ready up front like they know what’s coming). The sides are great, especially the onion rings, and I really appreciated the small touch of sliced lemons and limes available for iced tea drinkers.
The atmosphere is another win — a 50s Coca-Cola / classic car vibe with license plates and retro décor that feels nostalgic and welcoming.
Highly recommend for a satisfying afternoon meal. Going back for my 6th visit VERY SOON!

I have to say this was one of my worst dining experiences my family and I have ever had. We were greeted by a teenager who clearly did not want to be there. Our food came out super quick, which you would expect at a bbq place because you can’t make it fresh.
My wife ordered a salad with chicken, which had dry, tasteless bites of fried chicken. I ordered the two meat platter that came with sides. I’m not a professional pit master but I do know a good brisket. Theirs had pretty much no seasoning or flavor, extremely dry, hard to chew and if I had to guess was a couple days old. The ribs had a very funky taste to them, were very bland and once again tasted old. The corn bread was so hard that it could have been used as a sledge hammer. Neither meats were edible for us. The Mac and cheese and fries were okay.
We left hungry and very disappointed. There was no one in there and unfortunately I can see why. Poor service and bad food is just a recipe for disaster. I was really hoping it would be good but it was not and I would not suggest coming here.

The brisket platter was very good as well as the onion rings. Nice old school BBQ atmosphere with a variety that of sauces. Look forward to coming back and trying the pulled port sandwich.

Family of 4 stopped…we all had something different. I had 2 piece dark chicken w collard greens…delicious. father in law had a smoked sausage w green beans and baked beans. He loved it. Son had ribs and fries…he says it smacked. Husband had beef with green beans and loved it w the mustard sauce. Beer was nice and cold. Would go again.

I was amazed I was eating in a strip mall. I had a 2 meat meal with chicken/turkey, slaw and cornbread. Everything was amazing, absolutely no sauce required. I know that’s hard to believe and I’m surprised myself, but the food was delicious. Service was amazing. It was busy but the woman was moving so fast you couldn’t see her..Hustle service and great food, I’ll definitely be back..

Service was excellent. Folks were friendly and the restaurant was very clean and tidy. Food portions with the exception of the corn fritters were huge. Wife’s pulled pork was gigantic. I had a turkey/sausage sandwich. Both were excellent. Coleslaw was a full container. Took the picture afterwards. That was a full order of corn fritters though. .53 cents a fritter and they forgot the blue cheese. They did taste excellent though and still rate it 5. We will be back.
