Ok while I do travel around the towns in the Greenville area, I do manage to find stops that are known for different things. Williams Pit Stop is known all around for their hamburgers! The ladies that run the place are so nice. The hamburger was very delicious. While the bun in the picture looks a little worn, it didn’t take anything away from how great it was. Williams Pit Stop definitely needs multiple visits as they have quite a few daily visitors that are known by the staff. Be sure to stop by and see what you think. The potato salad and banana pudding are worth every bite as well. Small town yumminess exists here!

OK…this is an old place, but the interior will take you back to another time. The counter help were very friendly and prompt. The menu was short but all the burgers, hot dogs, etc. No french fries, though. Prices were very reasonable. It was old but clean, even the restrooms. Take some time to look around. You can also eat outside under cover. We will visit again!

Stopped for lunch. Ate outside. Good food. Note we ordered a chili dog then the lady said without a wiener? I was confused. I wanted a hotdog with chili. Turns out in some SC places a chili dog is just chili on a hot dog roll. Odd. But food was good .

I’ve been here several times and have only had the pork BBQ sandwich but it’s always great. Sometimes they have Banana Pudding which is good and if they have fudge you gotta try it- it’s excellent!

Now don’t expect anything fancy here, it’s just a small old-timey BBQ joint but the food is well worth stopping for, the folks working there friendly and down-to-earth, and the decor quaint and homey just like it should be. Stop in, you’ll be glad you did!

First time here. Pulled up and was the only customer inside. Ordered the chili cheeseburger with potato salad, baked beans & sweet tea (~$12). I sat outside at the picnic tables because it was a nice day but note that this place is along the highway so it is loud. There were also some small tables inside with AC. The woman who took my order brought out my burger first and I took a few bites as I waited for my sides but they never came. I thought maybe they had to cook some new beans or maybe I was supposed to grab them myself somewhere that I missed so I went back I inside. Looked around and then asked a different woman and she grabbed them for me. Little confusing but all in all, the food was DELICIOUS. All around great meal and recommend if you’re passing through.

This was a great little hole in the wall. My husband and I both had the bbq pulled pork and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. The potato salad and the beans were on point as well. But we didn’t stop there, we HAD to try the fried pies as well. I had the sweet potato and my husband had the apple and they were amazing too. It was a perfect meal. We will stop again the next time we are out this way.

Great BBQ sandwich! The slaw had too much mayonnaise for my taste, but I did really enjoy my pulled pork sandwich. It has a great smoky flavor and the mild sauce was good. It’s on a big bun.

I took a little drive to Travelers Rest to check out Williams Pit Stop because I heard they had outstanding hot dogs.

First off, it’s about as “hole in the wall” as you can get as far as aesthetics go. So, if you’re looking for somewhere that’s pleasing to the eye, this ain’t it. Williams Pit Stop reminds me of the kind of place my grandpa would take me to. It’s pretty dated on the inside with a limited amount of small booths and tables. They also have picnic tables outside for a classic Americana alfresco dining experience.

They have a short and simple menu consisting of cheeseburgers, pulled pork sandwiches, fried bologna sandwiches, hot dogs, and homemade sides. You can even find boiled peanuts and fresh-made pork rinds here. Affordable prices!

I got the Hot Dog Plate. As you can see, it isn’t anything crafty or fancy but OH MY GOODNESS that chili is outstanding. It’s extremely well seasoned + balanced and it’s actually a meaty chili instead of puréed brown stuff. I really really enjoyed these hot dogs and would definitely get them again. Fantastic potato salad and baked beans too.

Do yourselves a favor and stop by Williams Pit Stop. It’s truly a hidden gold mine.
