I think this is my favorite place in Pennsylvania. The food is amazing. They start you with a basket of bread, and the zucchini bread is the best. The menu is varied and the dishes have a unique presentation. The wait staff is wonderful. The building is a large, very old inn (William Penn stayed there), and beautifully decorated. The last time I was there, it was for my boyfriend’s birthday, and there were six of us. They put us in a small, private room. Unless you go very early, make reservations.

What a beautiful place to have dinner. From the welcome at the front door and very welcoming attendant at the coat check to the wait staff. Everyone makes you feel special. The food is amazing. Prices are the same as any well appointed restaurant. The Chilean Sea Bass with asparagus, and fingerling potatoes was perfectly cooked and delicious. The side salad with tarragon house dressing was amazing. I even bought a bottle of dressing to take home. The surf and turf was really good. And the Chocolate Heaven Torte was a perfect blend of flavors. The history of the William Penn Inn is very interesting and the building and decor is in great shape and well taken care of. It’s beautiful.

We had my parents’ 40th wedding anniversary party here and the service was spectacular during the event. The staff was very easy to work with beforehand and made planning, setting up, and breaking down enjoyable. The brunch/buffet menu had a wide variety and everyone loved the food. I would highly recommend this venue for any event.

My wife and I had a gift card to this place when we moved into the area and we’re excited to use it for our anniversary! The atmosphere is great at the restaurant. The management has done an excellent job at making this a great place for a meal. While I can’t say the food is necessarily our style (I’m sure many absolutely love it), we found items that we really enjoyed to eat here.

William Penn is one of the best restaurants period. They have never disappointed. East Brunch was fantastic! I enjoyed my food so much I forget to take pics, but I managed to get one of my deserts.

Very very old school atmosphere. This place definitely seems like it was designed and built more than a century ago. If that is what somebody’s looking for, this place is great. We had a group of 13 people and the service was impeccable. The food did not taste that great however. The soup I got tasted like it came out of a can. And the rest of the food was pretty average. Their liquor options are overpriced but their wines were not bad, in terms of price. I would only recommend to somebody over 50. Paid $60 for a cake that was purchased at their bakery. Including plating, that does not seem bad. But just to think that $60 for that cake for takeout would be a little ridiculous. 13 people, on average two drinks per person, with an appetizer and dinner cost $100 a person.
