A lovely place for elegance and a fine meal. Certainly worth the experience. In the holiday season, it is beautifully lit with Christmas lights all around, which makes for an incredible sight on 202.

Now, on to the food and service. Our server, Erin, was delightful. She made sure that our water glasses were never empty and checked on us periodically to ensure that things were going well at our table. The hostesses were kind and present. We were seated almost right away for our reservation. The food was great. I really enjoyed the escargots, and the bacon-wrapped shrimp in the sampler. None of us were too crazy about the lobster bisque, but, on the upside, it did have true pieces of lobster in it.

All in all, if you are celebrating something momentous, or even if you’re just in the mood for a night of elegance, The William Penn Inn will certainly deliver what you’re looking for. Enjoy!

My boyfriend took me there to celebrate my birthday and we had an absolutely lovely time! Our server, Gabby, was professionally courteous and attentive and the food was fantastic. It was first class all the way and I highly recommend if you’re looking for a fine dining experience.

Our daughter’s wedding was spectacular from the rehearsal dinner to the last dance.
The wedding coordinator, Tiffany, all the staff and manager, Jon executed every facet of the two days with precision!
Thank you for the wonderful memories.

Warmth service, adequate timing, good food, nice place for family gathering. Just one thing, we reserved for the second floor but were tabled on another floor. I guess they didn’t have another guess for the floor and we were consolidated to the floor along with another guests. Besides that we had a good time. Brian served us well.

I came here with my husband for our wedding anniversary and I was expecting delicious food given the positive reviews I read. We each ordered from the Pris Fixe menu with an appetizer. My husband got the roast prime rib, which he did not enjoy as it was dry and a little overcooked. I thought the filet mignon tip I ordered was decent. We were hoping for a spectacular meal to celebrate our anniversary given the high rating this place had but we will not be back as this place did not wow us. For the price they charge, I would expect the food to be cooked properly and correctly.

We were three couples that went there for Valentine’s Day. It was just all around very nice! The atmosphere was pleasing, the staff was courteous, and other guests were respectful. By that I mean it wasn’t overly loud, as sometimes restaurants can be that way. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. A couple of us had surf and turf (filet mignon and a crab dish), another had scallops. Unfortunately, I don’t remember the others, but I know they liked it! It definitely wasn’t cheap, but that was to be expected. All in all, we had a wonderful time and it was a great experience. If you have a couple hundred bucks you want to spend on a very nice dinner with your date, that’s the place!

The food here is good, but the service has recently been impolite and uninviting. My family and I did the New Year’s brunch buffet and were finishing up our food. We were only seated for about 40-45 minutes before a woman on the staff (I’m guessing a manager) visited our table and told us to hurry up and finish our meals quickly. If you’re going to pay hundreds of dollars for food, you’re going to expect a full-value experience, not getting rushed out of the restaurant or hustled by the staff. My family and I will not be returning to this establishment, which is a shame because we enjoy their food so much.

We had dinner here tonight. The outside property is stunning. The walk inside was the best part. Upon entering it was still decorated and festive. Beyond that, the interior is extremely dated. It was like being in hreat-grandma’s place. The food was average at best. We had clams casino. The clams were super fishy and did not taste good. The house salad was over dressed and soggy. The seafood risotto was bland. It was supposed to have lobster tail. I found one tiny piece that was overcooked. The peppermint bark cheesecake was the best thing I ate. The service was excellent. I will admire the beautiful outside as I go past but would not eat here again.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional Dining Experience

It’s my first time dined at William Penn Inn and was thoroughly impressed by every aspect of my visit.

The **food** was outstanding—I had Calve liver with tender taste and perfect seasoning.

The **service** was impeccable. Our server, Rylie, provided attentive and gracious hospitality. Her warm smile and genuine care for our experience truly elevated the evening.

The **ambiance** was equally delightful—the restaurant boasts a tasteful, romantic atmosphere with all the Monet characters painting

They have a class system for their patrons and they allow rich children to run rampant…Update: I received a call from Rachel the Director of Operations who informed me the maître d’, who was a young man in his early 20’s, was provided coaching but they did admit that the situation occurred and they were not able to get it under control and instructed him on what he could do next time. That doesn’t save a ruined birthday dinner for an 80 year old – let me say that again, an 80 year old. They offered us NOTHING. Not a free drink, app, no offer to refund a portion of our meal. This call from the restaurant added insult to injury. I was essentially informed that the father of the party blew off their request to keep the children from running wild. So be warned. If The William Penn Inn staff feels someone else is more well off than you are, or they know the people are well off, they will allow them to do whatever they want. Sounds VERY familiar. Even though my money spends the same and we chose the restaurant due to its reputation. It’s definitely a class issue with them, confirmed by the phone call I received, and I’m appalled by their behavior. Rachel even had the audacity to suggest they could have moved OUR table. Why not move THEIR table since their children were ruining the experience and we weren’t doing anything to anyone. I’m not sure why they called to tell me that yes, we admit this all happened but nothing we could do because they were rich and celebrating their five year olds birthday at an upscale dining establishment. This NOT fine dining any longer.

Original Post:

Very disappointed. Food was good but not at the level I expected. Our server was great. They post a dress code everywhere inside the restaurant yet allowed three small children to run circles around our table in the main dining room, continuously running in and out of the dining room and could be heard shrieking from the hall on several occasions. The parents went back and forth past our table what felt like 100 times chasing them. It was a very stressful, not at all relaxing, yet extremely expensive meal. Not one single person at this so-called upscale fine dining establishment said one single word. We were celebrating an 80th birthday and I was so upset. No one in our party will ever return. We will celebrate our milestones at the Joseph Ambler Inn. Do not recommend. They run their main dining room like it’s McDonald’s and despite their dress code, allowed JEANS. The atmosphere does not match the price tag. Go elsewhere.
