Specializing in burgers and dogs with darts and pool until 4pm daily, the William Penn is a hot spot for lunch breaks in downtown Lebanon.

This is the real deal, casual and easy, a cozy corner bar and restaurant in an established neighborhood.
The other patrons were sitting at the bar so we took a seat there too. The bar stools were comfortable and had good foot rests-an important feature for we short girls.
We ordered four dogs; two with everything, and two plain. I have had the weirdest experience with “chili dogs.” Most are more of a thin sauce with mystery mix made from Worcestershire sauce, mustard, spices, and meat you can’t quite identify. These were clearly chili dogs. Mike doesn’t skimp on the toppings, the quality of the dogs, or the conversation while seated at the bar. It was like having lunch with a dear friend.
The atmosphere is industrial rustic in a good way and very clean.
It was the perfect spot to stop in for a bite, and forget about the rush of the day for a while.

William Penn Bar and restaurant should be considered a historical landmark and place. It’s known for their hot dogs. Mike is the owner. He’s the son of the original owner of William Penn Bar and restaurant and the food is exquisite and reasonably priced but the atmosphere is second to known probably the best place to be to meet people from all walks of life. When you go to the William Penn Bar and restaurant you feel welcomed and a part of the family. I have a great deal of respect for Mike and his staff and for the customers that stop by the restaurant. Mike and his staff especially Deb they both believe in me and share knowledge and support with me. They laugh with me and they feel my pain when someone treats me poorly but they make me realize that I’m worth something to them and anyone who gets to know me. Mike knows that I have an addiction to knowledge and he will teach me things when he is able to. So will Deb his staff worker. But when I stop by I’m always welcomed with a smile and big hello and again the food is exquisite but I feel that they should classify the William Penn Bar and restaurant as a historical landmark and place and that’s my own opinion
