Came for an event with a large group. Ordered a Clover Club there, and a Tavern Burger and a side of mac and cheese to go from off the late night menu.

Was not informed the mac and cheese was an upcharge. I always dislike when servers don’t tell you what sides cost extra. Not only that, but it was possibly the worst mac and cheese I’ve ever had. I essentially received buttered noodles with a pinch of cheese sprinkled on top to spite me. I’m not sure if the sauce collecting at the bottom of the container is supposed to be a cheese sauce, but I can’t taste any cheese in it, only butter.

I also received the wrong burger (I got the “Build Your Own Burger” when I asked for the Tavern Burger). It’s on me for not checking before I got home, 100%, but I’m not sure where the breakdown in communication was — if it was the server or the kitchen staff who got it wrong. The burger was…alright. Cooked to my specification, which I appreciated, but not worth what I paid for it.

My cocktail was good, service was pretty good, and the fries ordered by the group were VERY good, so 2* instead of 1*. I understand that serving big groups can be difficult — it’s loud, there’s a lot to keep track of — but the food I took home was so disappointing that I have no desire to come back and eat here on my own. Really rough.

We held a family luncheon following a service at Arlington National Cemetery for about 25 people. Everything exceeded our expectations. We had a spacious private area (large open room plus full bar) that was beautifully decorated for the holidays. The built-in glass fireplaces were perfect for the cold, rainy day. The food was delicious and there was plenty for everyone. We ordered the salmon, london broil, brussels sprouts and roasted potatoes. The restaurant also arranged to have lobster rolls for us, since that was my mother’s favorite food. The cookies and cheesecake for dessert were also delicious. Bar and food service were both wonderful. The service at ANC went more quickly than expected and the restaurant was happy to accommodate all of us early and had our appetizers ready to go when we got there. We were also able to hook up a computer to a TV for a slide show.
Overall the entire experience was excellent and I highly recommend the tavern!

Great service, really delicious food, Amazing price! WJ Tavern made me like yucca! Cooked to perfection and an amazing dipping sauce turned my yucca frown upside down! The rest of the was also very delicious and filling and for a super reasonable price! Excited to go again!

I went with a friend to watch the commanders win today. I had the egg nog it was lovely, six raw oysters that had a lovely but sweet flavor and a nice burger that was cooked well.

The atmosphere in this place is awesome. Our bartender was fast and friendly. Food was great and huge portions. We could not finish our food.

Friendly staff, and plenty of room at the bar on a Saturday night. The Buffalo wings are breaded and fried to a crisp even with the sauce, but the sauce was way too tangy for my preference. We also got the tavern burger (not pictured). It’s a huge juicy burger; they didn’t cook it to the requested temperature, but it worked out because of how juicy it was. The bartenders high five cocktail was also just okay. It was intended to be an herbal cocktail, but I got more of an antiseptic flavor than anything. The atmosphere is great, with lots of TVs to watch any sport or game show you like. For parking, if you park in the same building as the tavern you can get free parking, but you don’t get free parking if you park in the parking garage across the street with Giant.

William Jeffrey’s Tavern was recommended to me as a place to gather with friends and family after my father’s funeral at Arlington Cemetery. We had a group of more than 30 people, and it turned out to be the perfect spot to celebrate Dad’s life together.

My wife and I met with Kevin beforehand to plan food and drinks, and he was incredibly helpful—walking us through options, quantities, and pricing. Everything was reasonable, and the space itself couldn’t have been better: two beautiful glass fireplaces, plenty of tables and chairs, plus a private bar with our own bartender dedicated to serving just our group.

On the day of the gathering, Kevin and his staff delivered exactly as promised. Everyone loved the atmosphere, the food, and the thoughtful setup. It made a difficult day feel a little lighter, giving us a comfortable place to be together.

I would wholeheartedly recommend William Jeffrey’s Tavern to anyone looking for a nearby venue after a funeral at Arlington Cemetery. It’s close, welcoming, and truly wonderful. Thank you, Kevin!

The place is super cute and nice for a group. My cocktail was great, the food was just really bad. I ordered the Pork Belly Banh Mi and substituted the side with smashed red potatoes. The pork belly was very disappointing. I even took it home to try to crisp it up to make it edible, but in the end had to through it away. I would go back for the atmosphere and service, and maybe just stick with a cocktail.

I used William Jeffery’s Tavern for a breakfast/brunch reception following my late husband’s interment service at Arlington National Cemetery. I’m not from the area and had to do my research online. When I spoke with Kevin, the general manager, a few months prior he compassionately helped me to plan out the perfect reception. The restaurant was in close proximity and an easy drive from the cemetery. The atmosphere was perfect…warm and inviting! In fact, many guests commented to me how much my husband would have loved the tavern. The food was delicious and the staff courteous. There were many options and the price was very reasonable. It was also nice that they offered guests 3 hours of validated parking in the garage underneath the building. It was a wonderful experience for the gathering! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

One of my favorite places in Arlington. On this visit I ordered a full rack of ribs, with asparagus, mac & cheese. I forgot to ask for my ribs dry because places always put to much bbq sauce on the ribs. The ribs were still good. The ribs were juicey, falling off the bone and tasty. The asparagus, warm bread, mac & cheese were good too, but the mac & cheese needs more cheese added. Our waitress was awesome!
