I recently had a great experience at Water & William. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and the food and drinks were excellent.

I started with the tuna tartare toast with tomato jam, which was fresh, balanced, and packed with flavor. The garlic shrimp were also delicious and perfectly cooked with just the right amount of garlic. For drinks, I tried an espresso martini and an Italian 75, and both were fantastic and well crafted.

A special shoutout to Sierra, who was my host, server, and bartender. She did an amazing job explaining the menu and describing the dishes and cocktails, which made the whole experience even better. Her knowledge, friendliness, and attention to detail really stood out.

Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, and I’d definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in St. Andrews.

Williams and water is a spectacular experience of tastes and flavors, unique pairings of spices and herbs. The vegetable crudo was the most delightful find, and the heirloom salad is still alive in my memory. The small plates style is not my favorite way to eat , but the plates are perfectly paced at W&W, making the meal a culinary parade.
Oh !!!! and the Craft Cocktails !!!

WOWOWOWOWOW! Food was absolutely amazing. Some standouts for me was the potato croquettes and smash fried potatoes. Just delicious. The bay of funday scallops was great as well. The garlic shrimp tasted a bit rubbery for me but was good. Cauliflower bites were good but I felt like I didn’t get my bang for my buck. Don’t get the daiquiri you basically get in a cosmo glass so not worth the money. I feel most of the meals are great for sharing for 2 people. It’s definitely worth a stop. Has washroom on site.

The experience was superb. The menu offered a relatively broad selection that satisfied our diverse party of 8. We ordered 12 dishes to share- each was well crafted and delicious. We each had different favourites and enjoyed our choices of the seared scallops, summer vegetable carpaccio, garlic shrimp, tuna poke, jerked cauliflower, lobster pintxo, smash fried potatoes, buttermilk fried chicken, braised pork noodles, seared tender steak- then desert. The staff were attentive and prompt with serving a meal we won’t forget. We had the opportunity to speak with some staff and learn that produce is sourced locally and selected items are imported from regions Europe the chef visited to optimize what he masterfully creates. We followed our evening the following day for a 3-5pm tapas experience- similarly clever plates that we enjoyed on the patio along the picturesque Water Street, in St Andrews. We are certain to be back.

We’ve been visiting St. Andrew’s for years, and the food options, especially for dinner, have always been tricky. It’s always hard to find spots that aren’t overpriced and complete tourist traps.

We stumbled upon William & Water during our summer 2024 trip to St. Andrew’s and were blown away by the food, service, and overall experience. Their menu is divided between veggie-forward and meat/seafood-forward small plates, with the latter being on the bigger side. Everything we tried was delicious, and the portions were bigger than we expected. The mussel escabeche was pure perfection, and the Khao Soi Dreams (with braised beef) was also a favorite.

The service was impeccable — our server was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. I wish I had gotten his name to add it to this review!

I totally recommend reservations, which we were able to easily make online. They had bar seating and regular tables. We chose a table by the front entrance, and it was quite cozy. I’m really looking forward to dining here again during our next trip!

One of the best meals any of us has ever had. We chose the tomato salad and the mussels as an appetizer, and the garlic shrimp fried rice, the scallops, and the beef curry dishes for our mains. Everything was cooked, flavored and presented to absolute perfection. Small menu, perfectly executed by Chef William and his team. Service was impeccable, and drinks from the bar were also exceptionally made. Our 6YO gave it “20-hundred” on a scale of 1-10, and we couldn’t agree more. Don’t leave St. Andrews without a visit to William & Water!

Notable: There’s no kids’ menu, so if you’re bringing one they should be cool with eating grown-up foods at grown-up prices. We had no issue with this, but our kid is quite culinarily adventurous. It was his birthday, so we planned to splurge.

Absolutely delicious food! They were offering share plates, we ordered three for the two of us and it was the perfect amount. Highly recommend the broccoli and the cabbage dishes – we were craving vegetables and these two didn’t disappoint. Plus all dishes were beautifully presented. Restaurant was quiet and calm as was the kitchen. Service wasn’t rushed but quietly attentive and relaxed. We wandered in without a reservation and with little expectation and were very pleasantly surprised. One of the best meals we’ve had on our trip to Canada. Definitely recommend reserving a table, which we could’ve done via Google.

Had the pleasure of experiencing Chef Will’s 7 course tasting menu for dinner and how good was that! I cannot possibly explain the intricacies that went into each dish but everything was wonderfully presented and tasted superb. Started with a duo of oysters of which the deep-fried one was my favourite, followed by Scallop Crudo with thinly sliced cucumber, carrot and radish. Third came pieces of juicy salmon on fresh homemade crostini followed by the best spice creamy butternut soup with corn tortilla chips, which the just the right amount of kick! Next came creamy tagliatelle with lobster (the chef did not skimp on the lobster), and then the juiciest tender beef tenderloin with smashed baby potatoes and roasted cauliflower. We were exploding by that time so dessert (which was the best chocolate dipped cannoli I’ve ever had) was boxed up for later. Loved the ambience of the venue, and our server Marcus was very pleasant, informative and attentive. The photos cannot do justice to how good everything was and we’re already planning Round 2.

Delicious Oysters.

The dishes are shareable. Atmosphere is relaxed with lots of light.

The food is delicious and made from scratch. The beef melted in your mouth. The vegetarian dishes were excellent. The seafood was very fresh and delicious.

Do not neglect dessert here! The cannoli and chocolate cake were a dream.

Fantastic food! Small plates, everything was absolutely fantastic, we are dreaming about the kimchi smashed potatoes and the scallops but every plate was delightful.
