I ordered the bbq chicken, with cornbread, mac and cheese, baked beans. If you are looking for delicious southern bbq, this is NOT the place. The cornbread was not baked all the way through, the bbq was more peppery to taste rather than sweet bbq which is what I asked for. The baked beans were more like stew gravy flavored, the mac n cheese also barely cheesy and undercooked. It was all just bad – Im so upset I wasted $25.

While in Reston last week on business, I stopped by Baldino’s to have some keys made because I have gone to their Vienna location for decades. A couple of doors away, I noticed Willard’s BBQ and decided to try it for lunch. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich, baked beans, and potato salad.

The pork was closer to being shredded than pulled and soaked the bun, which I really dislike; I can’t stand the mouthfeel of soggy bread. The baked beans were pinto beans, and the sauce was bland. I prefer traditional baked beans made with navy beans in a sauce of ketchup and tomato sauce, brown sugar, a little mustard, and some smokiness. The potato salad was almost emulsified and overloaded with chopped celery, giving it a similar mouthfeel to the soggy bun.

I took a bite of each and ended up tossing everything. I feel bad because the person taking my order was genuinely friendly, and I liked the authentic BBQ house ambiance.

An amazing place. Brisket is on another level. As well as other meat. Strongly recommend Moist Brisket and Ribs. And for sides: baked beans and roasted sweet potatoes.

Look, BBQ and Virginia don’t usually pair together when thinking of either, but Willard’s does BBQ well in Virginia. Ordered a big sampling of almost everything, and it was all delicious and smokey and super filling. My favorite was the ribs, which were saucy and fell off the bone. I’ll definitely be coming back

The brisket sandwich was laden with an abundance of rich, fatty marbling, its savory juices oozing out with each bite. The dirty rice, unfortunately, was overwhelmed with moisture, leaving it mushy and lacking the vibrant flavors one would hope for. Meanwhile, the potato salad had taken on an unappetizing green hue, casting a shadow over its usual creamy and comforting appeal.

Got the duo platter with spare ribs, moist brisket, collard greens, and Mac and cheese. It was really delicious and flavorful, no bbq sauce needed. The meats were not dry. The menu doesn’t state that it comes with cornbread, I almost chose it as a side. Would’ve ended up with 2 cornbreads. Overall, a good place for bbq.

This is our favorite BBQ place in the Reston area. Reliably tasty. We love the jerk chicken and also the COOKIES! The cookies might be the best thing on the menu actually.

The food here is absolutely amazing! They brisket falls apart in you mouth and it is super juicy and flavorful. There sausage was super good and there jalapeños and onions made the sausage taste super good. I didn’t think it would fill me up, but after words I was so full that I unfortunately wasn’t able to get seconds, even though it was so good. The service here was really friendly and they helped me out with there menu because it was my first time here. 10/10!

I came here for the first time in June 2023. I had never eaten at Willard’s BBQ and the staff suggested I try the Texas Teaser Tray. The portion size was very good, and I got it with mashed potatoes with gravy and macaroni and cheese. The mashed potatoes were very good, but I found the macaroni and cheese to be a bit watery and not warm enough. Overall the quality and quantity of the foodwas good for the price.

Getting back from Canada, the first thing I cooked was BBQ. It is my favorite comfort food. While I enjoy making it myself, every now and then I enjoy eating out. I was craving some Texas BBQ the other day while visiting my sister and she recommended Willard’s. Not only was the food incredible, it was very reasonably priced and the portions were generous. Some of the best brisket I’ve ever had. Excellent sauces, too. Will definitely be back soon!
