We recently visited this restaurant during what we understand is a soft-opening period—so we know they’re still working out the kinks before their grand opening in January. We wanted to offer some detailed feedback in the spirit of helping them improve and succeed.
To start with the positives: the atmosphere is really nice. The country décor is charming, and the space is clean and welcoming. We enjoyed the live entertainment, which was amazing and added a nice touch to the evening.
In terms of the meal, there were some specific areas that could use attention. One of the steaks was cooked correctly, but the other was not, and overall the meat had a strange taste—perhaps indicating that the grill might need a good cleaning or that the meat quality needs checking. The two steaks had totally different flavors, which should have been consistent. We couldn’t finish one of them. The seasoning on the meat was on the salty side, as were the onion strings, which were oversalted. Additionally, the tater tots and rolls were overcooked—so much so that the rolls cracked apart rather than pulling apart easily, and the tots were very crunchy. The side salad was good except for some black, wilted, lettuce that we were able to seperate out. The whipped butter also didn’t taste like real butter at all. We let the waitress know that we weren’t satisfied with the steaks, when she asked, and she said that people haven’t been satisfied because they are comparing them to the previous establishment which specialized in steaks. I have to disagree, because we rarely ate at the other establishment. We based our opinion on how it actually tasted, not how it compared.

The indoor temperature was quite cold, with only a couple of space heaters running. The restroom’s hot water was extremely hot—something that might need adjusting for safety, especially if children are going to be using it.
Lastly, we found the price point a bit high for what we received. Our meal—which consisted of a 10-oz sirloin, a 6-oz sirloin, two waters, and one appetizer—came to about $80 before tip, and at that price we expected a bit more consistency. Expect to spend at least $100 for two people if you want steaks, an appetizer, and sodas.
There was also only one waitress, who was a bit overwhelmed. She was handling 5 or 6 tables with no help. She was very pleasant, but service was slow and cumbersome. When we were ready to leave, we had to give our ticket and payment to a cook because we couldn’t find our waitress or anyone else at the front.
We truly hope this feedback helps, because we can see the potential here. With some fine-tuning, we think they can create a really enjoyable experience by the time they fully open in January. We’re looking forward to seeing how they grow and improve.
I’m giving them 4 stars because of the potential this place has. They’re still new, and I don’t want to lower their rating while they have so few reviews. We’ll come back someday after they’ve had time to get their bearings, and I’ll update my star rating based on that experience. My wife and I wish them the best and hope they are extremely successful!
Final note, please add a guest wifi, there is zero AT&T service inside the building.

If you want a “quick bite”, this is not your place. Took an hour to get a salty burger with fishy fries and a grilled chicken ranch wrap with tots. (Fish should never be cooked in the same oil as anything else, for starters.) And the cook certainly likes thier salt, too! The wrap was maybe 5 inches and very dry with no flavor. (A Taco Bell burrito is about twice the size – not that it’s better, but you get a size comparison, at least.) Nothing was worth an hour long wait or the prices charged. jmo
Seemed like only 1 person was in the kitchen – on a Friday evening!? Appeared to only be one waitress, as well. She was very nice but very busy – she never stopped! She was constantly moving between all the tables & the kitchen. No complaints about her service, at all! There was another girl who may or may not have been wait staff? Seemed like a busser, but not really sure. All in all, was not some place we will go to again. Wish I had something better to say. We rarely go out, and sadly, this is why.

Wiley’s Cove Hideaway is hands-down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time! The food was absolutely delicious — every dish was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. The waitresses were exceptional — friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home the entire time. And the desserts… wow! They were phenomenal — the perfect way to end an amazing meal. If you’re anywhere near Leslie, this place is a must-visit!

This place had the best breakfast I’ve had in years. Three of us and I think we tried everything on the menu. Amazing fried potatoes but the pancakes and French toast were beyond words. We ordered extra to go for snack later.

Oil burnt, tobasco watered down, no jalapenos, no tots, mushrooms not fresh. Food quality must improve, change fry oil more often, have the ingredients and never water down the most important product to cover the taste.
