Appetizers came out. Calamari and the Corn Ribs were great. Got off to a good start.
Kids menu turned out the underwhelming. Not quite what I would have expected for this restaurant. Ended up letting my son order off the adult menu.
Of the 4 adults in the party, we ordered a filet and sole entree, sole entree by itself, ahi tuna entree, and a wildfire burger dinner meal. This is where we get into mixed thoughts on the meal.
First, the Ahi Tuna went over very well. Great entree all the way around. Good flavor and cooked perfectly.
The other three were borderline return, which the server did offer but in the end we decided to skip it. The Wildfire Burger meal had a decent flavor but was very greasy, maybe oily is a better term. Napkins were definitely necessary but once you pick it up you cant put it down. Not because it was good, but because the plate was full of more stickiness due to the oil.
The Sole fish had a mixed review. Those of us who tried it were split on the butter cream sauce. Half of us liked it, the other half did not. However, none of us liked the breading with seeds that was on the Sole. In the end, we scrapped the breading off to enjoy the fish. The Sole by itself came with a risotto. After trying it, we all agreed we could do without it.
The filet with the Sole was just wrong. Comments about the Sole aside since we already talked about the fish, Ill focus on the filet. Or perhaps in this case, filet is not a good term. 2 blobs of meat would be better. It was actually some of the worst filet I have ever had. So bad that after trying some, and trying to have others sample it, we left it untouched on the plate. For those that come here, I cant stress how much I would recommend you avoid the filet.
As mentioned earlier, our experience was mixed. Good ambiance, but food wise it was a disappointment.
We hosted our daughter’s birthday dinner here, and the entire experience was seamless from start to finish. I coordinated in advance with the manager, and the team handled named seating, decor, and pre ordered courses with ease and professionalism.
Every dish arrived hot, beautifully presented, and perfectly timed. Each course exceeded expectations, and the service was attentive, warm, and polished without ever feeling rushed.
I have celebrated my own birthday here in the past and knew they handled special occasions well, but this experience went above and beyond. Coming from Las Vegas, where hospitality standards are high, WildFin absolutely delivers.
Thank you to Dan and his incredible team for creating such a memorable night for our family. We will not go anywhere else in Northern Utah.
However, what was more impressive was the customer service. Our waiter (“Shaggy”, since it was a Halloween event), was attentive, friendly, and excellent with kids. He asked about time constraints and allergies, which was deeply appreciated.
The kids gobbled up the grilled cheeses (which were reasonably priced).
I plan to go again, and would even do another holiday event!
Most of the food was actually great. I’m hoping it was just an off night. They tried to make it right but it was definitely a disappointment for a place that’s $40-50 a plate.
