We loved our meal! The staff was especially helpful even the morning of our reservation when I requested a change and they worked some magic with the Chef to accommodate us. The entire place is beautiful and serene. The atmosphere was upscale but comfortable. The restaurant was quiet and tables were situated to encourage conversation. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. And the food was delicious! We had the tasting menu and we’ll definitely be back for lunch or dinner on the patio by the herb garden, too.

Upon entering, the strong smell of mold was immediately off-putting. The lack of a hostess to greet us left us feeling unattended, and overhearing someone berating staff from a back room created a very uncomfortable atmosphere. Observing greasy dust on the light fixtures above the bar and cobwebs on the dining room beams further reinforced concerns about the establishment’s cleanliness. While the food may be exceptional, the unsanitary dining environment, the unprofessional treatment of staff, and the absence of a proper welcome were enough to make us decide to leave before ordering. We did appreciate the valet’s prompt and friendly greeting when we arrived.

This is a serious restaurant located on a peaceful, scenic farm. The staff seams to thrive and be inspired by the beautiful location. The chef and pastry chef worked previously at BlackBerry farm. The young pastry chef (CIA alum) is a budding genius. I can’t express how surprised and delighted I was with the fantastic meals, bread, and desserts we ate at Wilder while staying at Windy Hill farm. Try the honey pie!

Several people highly recommend this experience to us. However, our experience fell short of the 5 star expectations. The atmosphere is peaceful and intimate. The service deserves an “A” for effort but lacked 5 star polish. The steak was the best of the 4 different main courses ordered but was served on a plate with a sauce. No garnish, no greens, so sides and no ala carte choices. Absent was any meaningful vegetable options except for a salad and a mushroom tartine offered as a small plate. Two of the mains were served on a starch (risotto, lentils) without any garnish or color. The pasta was shrimp with a white sauce that was bland and fishy. The desserts were tasty. Overall the meal was unexceptional and certainly not worthy of the total cost. There was a 20% service charge/resort fee added to the bill that was not disclosed on the menu or in advance. We were told the servers tip was not included in this. Our experience, meal and the service fell short of what we would expect for the total price paid.
